3000's need rotary kits in stalled

and with the efx only post mixer theres no way to pre-listen. some effects are louder than others so you could make some pretty awful loud noises. I used to use a kaos pad on line out but would not really recommend it

cpu is no where near as important to a music program as simply keeping your system clean. have a separate profile for music, with minimal things running, and no auto updates, they'll come on at the worst time and kill performance for 5minutes. graphics for music programs are quite basic, but still look for something with decent gpu. also consider size - it's a trade off of sceen real estate (quite important if running 4 decks ro trying to edit things) vs weight

that's a pretty bold forecast ifyou don't even have gear yet. Unless by profits you mean enjoyment.
-
believe it or not they are really good. they make an awesome effort for the kids, and murray's a pretty mean guitarist. geting old though, one of them's got a pacemakrr now

only two musical events I got out to all year were sasha at the forum, and the wiggles at castle hill. new years resolution - get out more.

audacity should have an input meter on the toolbar. You want to watch that to make sure you never clip. If you are using an output that has a volume control, set it as loud as you can whilst never hitting the top. if you are using mic in it'll be pretty clear from watching that meter.

I got one from bunings just to try out the glow in the dark surface on my mixer. can't say I've used it in ages, sometimes gets pulled out for kids t-shirts and toys
-
depends on what you use then with. I still use my cdj800's with a time code cd. all the fancier controls and displays are better in traktor so this is as good a setup as any

should've got the rotary

0.02 and you're worried? Tc vinyl will be flickering by 20 times that or more, perfectly normal and mix able. 0.02 is equal or less than the lowest resolution on a cdj depending on model, if it's up and down by 0.02 then the average will be very close to zero.

Unsynced audio ( between head phones and speakers)
tubby replied to dechnician's topic in Digital & Software
this can be a huge issue in clubs - floor speakers are further away and not directed at the dj. hence they have monitors just for the dj. probably worth learning to mix just in the headphones if you can't rely on speakers, most mixers now let you cue 2 channels or cue mix the master and a cued channel. It can make mixes tighter (easier to tell when things are out) but also harder to tell which channel is faster when they both come from the same source -
^^ just keep the pipe for when you want to make a point and look wise

once upon a time you would get a pair of 1200's for $800, hell I got mine for 550, but now the tt's would go for 1K upwards. mixer - $400 or 500 range. this pair currently at 1200 with a lot of bid activity. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TECHNICS-SL- ... 4079770728

early versions of traktor pro were pigs for cpu, settled down pretty well now. I've not max'd it in either measure for a few releases on a pretty old computer with 1gb ram
-
a little confusing isn't it? the rp10 i think is the sub, and the new 10 is a 3 way speaker? wonder what market they are aiming at, most people find 8" monitors almost too loud, 10 " going to be hard to get to sound good at less than damaging volumes at monitor's normal range.

just like i kick a football in the park knowing a liverpool scout is going to spot me and sign me up, I dj in the bedroom knowing fame isjust around the corner. i dj for fun and relaxation, immerse myself in the mix. i know it's never going anywhere and I've no interest in putting the miles in that it takes to get gigs or get anywhere.

What do you think of the condition of this 800mk1
tubby replied to SolDios's topic in Turntables & Stylus
main thing is to test the platter works fine. If it was sticky or failing it might stop play when in vinyl mode, as it thinks it's being held down. try tapping the cue button when paused, it should play as long as you hold cue down and when you release go back to the cue point. Tap play and see how hard you have to hit to get it to play, does it work every time? there's nothing wrong with these units, but it's a few years old now so worth checking for signs of failure -
needs rotarising

Djm 300 a blast from the past! (I need info)
tubby replied to SolDios's topic in Mixers & Controllers
they actually sound better than the 500/600's of the same era, much less crap in them. actually not a bad little mixer, but realise what you get, 2 channels, 3 eq's, and not much else. x-fader is no good for scratching. -
efx500 for $600 is pretty expensive. I borrowed one from a friend, almost never used it. Kaoss pad 2 I have gets a lot more use but still it's nowhere near as useful as I thought it'd be before I got it.

-Waveform display and other features on the screen of the CDJs. How do these work when the CD in the player doesn't change? for older cdj's at least you lose the wave display but then any display on the pc is 100 times better than the dot matrix on a cdj. more detailed, zoomable, everythign about it is better -Looping in absolute mode you can loop just the same, on relative mode no you cannot. Also cannot save loops against a track since to the CDJ you are playing the same track every time. -Cueing (read it works in absolute and not relative mode??) as in save a cue point? then yes, works in absolute mode only. using the cue points on the software is better anyway. a simple controller plus cdj and everything's at your fingertips

I use my 800's with a tc cd, so work fine, but even then i would say the 850's at only $300 more are most definitely worth that small extra price
