prog house is a bit of a dumping ground when beatport can't decide what to call a track. electro, minimal, trance and a lot of pretty commercial stuff ends up in that category. not necessarily bad as you get a variety, but can take a lot of digging to find the sound you like eg michael woods I would classify as a trance producer. jerome isma-ae would be my most reliable producer in the prog area

finally got it working, no idea why the 14th time installing the exact same drivers worked when the other attempts didn't. makes me nervous still not knowing why it refused to work before
-
as in they are in venues? that was really the question with the USB drive decks, could you rely on finding them out and be confident turning up with just your USB sticks and no cd's
-
just installed from scratch on an xp laptop, took all of 10 minutes. still working on the win7 one after a few days

stickam is pretty good. free, can do audio and video and easy to setup. go to stickam.com and should be able to figure it from there.

feel like 1200's? only as in they are a solid and stable tt. With twice the torque or more, they feel quite a bit different
-
even if they do put out a new release for, says $50-100 to update, I'd be waiting 6 months for the bug fixes. NI are notorious for using the paying public to beta test software

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2xNumark-TT-200- ... 19c060b4ed not the best tt's, though not that bad, and $300 with no bids and 9 hours to go would make a good priced set to start with -
check out youtube for qbert's comparison, there's next to nothing in it. serato won't go the massive price drop, theyu've only recently had new soundcard, new version and the ableton bridge. This special won't last so long that they'll chase the price down
-
xone 4d is great value is you get from uk. a few stores will help you get VAT off, so that's about 15% off the price. Then with the dollar so high you should be able to get one for about $2K plus delivery. compared to aus prices you could probably fly there and pick up for similar price

jsut paid insurance and rego on my car. that shit ain't cheap

used to have a lot of dickheads on saturday nights who just sat in the back corners thinking they were gangsters, got worse towards the end. they were really little boys playing at it, but brought a lot of negative feelings to the place. was quite funny, for some reason all the asians thought I was a cop, and all the british and irish folk thought I was a dealer.

those gold techs look over the top, but cool atthe same time
-
yes, does timecode just like serato. if you don't like the sync'ing, don't use it. don't want 4 decks, choose the 2 deck view. at this price I say jump on it fast. even if you decide you don't like it, once the special ends you could easily sell if for the same price. some folks are saying this might be done before they release a paid update to the S4 software version and a new soundcard. but you can be that'll be at full price if true

Two new stylish DJ headphones from Pioneer - 28.10.2010

does the new hdj1000 break like the old one? -
sorry, was responding to the comment you "acquire" top 40
-
native instruments special sale, half normal price. And given the Eu price is less than aus price, half that again is seriously cheap
-
can you return?
-
so you get paid to play it but refuse to pay for it?
-
half normal price it's still worth importing. Stuff I've bought from germany arrives in 3 days, saving $150 (at absolute minimum) is worth a 3 day wait

I had the pionere tt's got them for nmext to nothing cos I did a lot of work for pioneer at the time. they have next to no torque, very very touchy. I wouldn't bother. on the plus side when I got my bargain techs, I sold the pioneers on ebay for more than the techs. Who am I to argue with the free market. Seriously duck into cash converters whenever you are nearby. I've see super OEM's for $200 a piece, vestax pdx2000's for $100 (should have grabbe that one) and I got my techs for $500, they'd only just put them in the window when I got them. a lot of the time it's junk, so you just keep looking until the right one comes up. They also give 30 warranty on the electonics, so you can take home and try them out properly -
no way in hell aussie retailers would sell that package for AU$355. but for that price it's almost worth buying a secnd copy just for the audio8. I paid $600 or there abouts just for the software
-
gas always had cdj's when I went there, but that was mostly for progress or trance events. what has happened to that place anyway? I used to be a regular, but then it just seemd to dissappear. and not like sydney has an oversupply of good venues
-
same, rockbox the o/s and it's even better. have 2 h3XX irivers, broke one so got another, ten figure out how to fix the first. better than computer, small, portable and you can listen to it right away without having to burn or copy
-
why are you playing it if you hate it so much? because you get paid to?
