like i have said before, i think it was good for me learning on cdjs and moving to a controller, however, that does mean you need to spend the cash on two setups instead of one if you want to change down the track. reasons i changed to controller: i mainly do house parties and muck around by myself. I couldn't find any reason to stay with cdj's over a controller, especially since i wanted traktor/serato. it takes less than 5 mins to set up and pack away my gear. i don't even worry about a case for the mc6000 because it's solid as a rock. Chuck the laptop and cables in a bag and you're off. Plus the controller gave me so many more features in terms of easy to access cue's, loops, sample decks etc. and being able to see them and the library a lot more easily. it was also A LOT cheaper. tl;dr version: controller = cheaper, easier to use, more features, easy to access library, easy to move around. cons: cdjs are good to learn on (even though you could just get rid of the waveforms and not use sync.) the main con of a controller is the stigma and idea people have of them being "toys"

yea, i was keen to do it if it worked straight away, but not really if i have to buy anything extra etc. i'll look into it in the future, but would be stretching the budget just buying the techs atm
-
it isn't listed here: http://www.native-instruments.com/index ... =1&rdrctd= and after having a bit of a look around, i don't think it is. i could use it as a normal mixer for the techs, but coudn't use timecode, unless i bought the box.
-
yea i had a quick look, but couldn't find anything specific on it. i'm gonna have more of a look though cos that would be sweet. i only have traktor pro, not scratch pro though... would that matter?
-
i wonder if my mc6000 could be used as the dvs for turntables and traktor.... i know you can use it as an external mixer, but not sure as a dvs.
-
no different to buying anything second hand though

fair enough, came across as like lurk6r said, as with other forums when people do the whole "zomg noooob seaarrchhh zomygawsh!"
-
what's your point? People came to a dj forum to ask for advice on what dj gear to buy.... seems reasonable to me....
-

everyone loves the grease megamix.... whaddaya talkin about?!
-
as everyone else said, should be fine.... only thing that might need an upgrade would be the RAM to speed it up a bit, but RAM is cheap and pretty sure you just open up the tower and put it in.

by the time you buy all the beans and the skin for a beanbag, they are fuckin' expensive.... comfy though lol we were gonna get a few in the new place while we were waiting for the lounge to come.... went to kmart, realised how much they were and sat on a matress for 3 weeks lol

Cheap-ish Speakers and Sub for 100-200 people?
awesome88 replied to Dibbo's topic in Amps & Speakers

wow, would be epic, but it's pretty expensive =\ don't know how much i was expecting though haha

true... lloyd is right. even these packs would be fine to get you started and for a long time to come, they are brand new and a fraction of the price. https://www.storedj.com.au/products/DEN-PK-DNS1200 or https://www.storedj.com.au/products/DEN-PK-DNS1200-2 my mate had the 1200's and they served him really well, he still has them, the only reason he doesn't use em so much now is he bought the denon dn-mc6000, but i've used them too and they are really solid, especially for the price and for just starting. you may not want a pack, buty it gives you a better idea of what you can get for your money
-
first set up looks the goods mate. 800's are really nice, and have a lot of features. Those combined with the djm400 will be a really good place to learn, and keep you going for a long time (ie. you won't have to upgrade unless you decide you want a different platform.) what are your plans? to do house parties etc? if so, that lighting set up should get you up and running straight away, but if you don't plan on doing parties straight away, you can always save some cash and find a set up without the lights
-
holy carp.... that bean bag thing is epic.... how much are they?
-
ah sweet, thanks. i never really look at that thread lol, maybe i should. i "aquired" a few packs of those types of songs, which should do.
