lol my story sucks... i didn't have an epiphany or anything. My mate started mucking around on his brother in laws decks... then when i saw them i took an interest and started mucking around on em. then my mate bought some decks, and i found out another of my mates dj'd..... second mate was upgrading his gear and sold me his old gear at a steal....and, as they say, the rest is history

no worries Gandy. if he decides to go down the controller, remember i did thje review of the denon with some comparisons to the S4 (probably the two main controllers atm). It goes into some of the pros and cons of controllers as well if you/he want to have another read. http://www.ausdjforums.com/modules.php? ... pic&t=4927 edit: also wanted to add to my previous post that the other con of a controller is they aren't industry standard... which ties in with the stigma if he is intending to move to club scene.... but if he is, like you said, just going to play in his bedroom and a few house parties, controller is probably the way to go.
