havnt had any experience with refurbs, but if it from the official pio store it will at least come with a warranty and be in good working order, otherwise they would be at a great liability. id say go for it

The other lads pretty much have it covered, I too think cans are important, the difference between an average pair and a good pair is night and day I have both xd53 and hd-25 and both are awesome, I personally prefer the xd-53s

Been sitting back waiting to see what everyone else said before jumping in head first like I usually do. Firstly, IMHO, there's no such thing as "better" when it comes to music. To me, music is not a competition, it's something to be enjoyed for what it is, everyone has different tastes and there's no rules or guidelines unlike say 100m sprint or a NRL game, where there is always a clear winner. I also not a fan how some of the points say "vinyl looks cooler", that's just as bad as super hot chicks getting gigs on looks. Play on what your best with, so you can make the best sound possible, end of story I love vinyl because for me nothing makes me more moist then getting my new record in the mail and having a physical copy of it, kind of like a collectible piece of memorabilia from my fiend days Sooner we accept and respect all mediums, sooner we can all come together and just enjoy music, how it should be

just a little announcement of my future direction music wise hey guys and girls how are we all on this sunny saturday?? Little bit of an announcement for you all in regards to the direction i will be heading. Mix/Production wise i have been very quiet, in one part this is due to my new job working 10-12 hr days 5-6 days a week, the other factor is genre. when i first started out, my main goal was to hit up club gigs and enter as many mix/dj competitions as possible. I achieved this early on the piece and while i was stoked i was a regular house hold name thanks to smashing out club/top40 performances/mixes, i always worked on side projects for the genres i was truly passionate about, which are trance and dubstep. dont get me wrong, i enjoy the pop/chart stuff, i enjoy listening to it every now and then, and enjoy playing it every now and then, but its not where my passion is. Seeing how there are no trance/dubstep clubs where i live, i always had to put that on the back burner while getting my name out there. i went soul searching a couple of weeks ago when i felt lost/disinterested in music, having an apathetic feeling towards the work i was doing really, really scared me, music my outlet, music is my escape, music is my utopia and i wasnt feeling that anymore doing the club/top40 stuff i had done for so long i sat down and re-evaluated a lot of things, i have been blessed in the fact i have been able to play all my club gigs i wanted to, played for crowds close to the thousands and am so happy for that. I have also rocked some of the best private/corporate functions i have had the honour/pleasure of performing for. I have achieved everything i set out to do when i started. now its time for me to look back and enjoy how far i have come, and look forward to working in the genres, while not popular to the general masses, have always held a place deep within my soul that i am finally able to share with my friends, fans, and the world. This new shift in direction will see me pumping out Trance and Dubstep, and being so passionate about these genres of EDM, im hoping i can share and open up some of my commercial fans to some other genres that are out there and are worth every bit of attention as the pop/chart hits. I understand that i may lose some fans who do not like these genres, and thats something i will have to take on the chin, thats the amazing thing about music, with so much variety there will always be music that will appeal to people, and music that wont i will close with one of my favourite passages from Serj Tankian "when you lose small mind, you free your life" ♥ Gandy

Another sneaky trick is, if you have a track playing that is 126 bpm and the track you want to bring in is 128, wait until the break down of the currently playing track happens and nudge it to 128 . When nothing's going on and you change tempo no one notices, 2 bpm change is nothing really and still leaves you plenty of time to beat match as there is usually another couple of phrases left to go to beat match your next track

Can't wait for beatport release

Pair of headphones for production/the occasional gig.
Gandy replied to legunner's topic in Accessories etc.
i recently purchased hd-25's when they were on special, as i too wanted something a little more lightweight and easier to transport/wear in public etc. Not sure if you wanting to spend that much, but man these things are light as a feather while still having awesome sound. A couple of weeknds ago i spent most of my weekend in my room watching movies/listening to music/gaming and wore these most of the time i wasnt sleeping. you dont even realise they are on your head, id highly reccomend. i have also heard the pioneers hdjs are very comfortable, i havnt had any personal experienve with them though -
