if you go here on the right hand side you can see what version you on, then click future versions to see what additions they have made and to see if its worth upgrading or not http://www.image-line.com/blog/fl-history.php if all else fails you could make a post on the image-line forums asking "i have xy plugins/automations etc, if i upgrade to version z can i expect any issues"
-
im using FL 10 but not even close to using the amount of plugsin/automation you would have, still being a total newbie. i havnt had any issues at all, im on 10.0.9 at the moment (which is the current stable release) plugins/VST im using are Massive Maximus no automation or any of that jazz, so as you can see its a very basic setup at the moment and the other ones that came as standard with producer edition

i think its more for if your out and about waiting for like food/dentist/doctors etc and all of a sudden you get a sic 4/8 bar beat in your head, you can quickly "jot it down" in this for when you get home so you dont forget it

Daft Punk's Wee Waa album launch: Everything u need to know
Gandy replied to dflux4's topic in DJ Headquarters
probably the best marketing/promo for a town show i have ever seen, props to whoever thought of this idea. of course its just going to the cd/itunes purchase being streamed and not them acutally being there, but look how much talk it has generated for some shitty town show of bumfuckville as i said props to the marketing team on this one -
^ I definitely felt like that as well gremm1s with FL studio, for me it was part frustration of not knowing how to use it and part frustration feeling like it wasnt very user friendly/intuitive. As gremm1s also mentioned the popular ones will have a boat load of youtube tutorials by users and the product manufacturers conCuss check out our sticky thread here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8132 also check out my thread with a 5 part intro to FL studio while you wait to get home and try it, to get a feel for FL studio to see if its your thing viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8098 best of luck, when you first start out you will feel like for every step forward you will take 10 steps back, the key is not to get overwhelmed/frustrated and just take it one step at a time, ive been taking production seriously for about 6 months now and i still have difficulties sometimes trying to achieve what i want the most important thing is using a DAW you personally are most comfortable with

and as tomy said, all of them offer a free full featured trial, mostly with the limitation that you cant save the project, but you can still export your work to .wav or .mp3

i use FL Studio, its great once you get your head around it, it comes with some powerful plug-ins as standard to get you going (sytrus is a pretty good free synth as well as edison being a great sample editor/manipulator) and if you are really into making your own loops its very very very easy to get started with. Imagine-Line are a fantastic company customer support wise and have a youtube channel dedicated to tutorials, and often have sales. I picked up Maximus (very powerful VSTi for mastering and making your final product sound studio professional) for $49 when it was on sale (RRP $189). you will find ableton/logic/pro tools are the big 3, but once you get into FL studio and understand it its just as powerful, it just takes awhile to understand how FL studio works compared to your big 3

so after about 30 mins of setting up my new profile i will list a coupole of things. you can make a personal or "artist" profile (obv i chose artist) 1. you can choose your custom URL straight away 2.. it feels very non responsive when click on links/editing profile, not sure if this is because im trying to do this at american peak time though. 3.. cant actually see what my profile looks like to the public, although this might be because i dont know how to view it like that yet. 4. looks like they host the music on there own servers, to upload my first remix i had to physically locate the file on my hdd to upload it, and as long as its under 50mb it uploads no worries these are my very early observations, this actually looks like this might be the next big thing music wise, pretty happy so far and ive only spent about 30 mins fumbling my way through

recently ive been pretty pissed off with soundcloud and the new copyright shit, and i know a lot of others have been too (recent post by hobz friend and as well as sloprock and various other artists having their ORIGINAL work taken down for copyright) in the process of setting up a new myspace account to see how much it has improved, will keep you posted with updates with links etc, give a quick review and let you know if itws worth it or not
