Hey man. As stated, just get a midi keyboard. the M-audio Axioms are pretty good and cheap. It might be worth investing in some of the 3grooves video tutorials on Ableton Live as they are REALLY good and extremely helpful.

How did you come up with your stage / DJ name?
DavePulse replied to LabRat's topic in DJ Headquarters
Correct me if im wrong, but Antix used to play hardcore at raves etc. also made a fukn awesome remix of Cocaine by Yakooza. might be a different person but -
hahah yeah i know it is complete rubbish its the first track i ever made about 2 yrs ago. 90% of it is made with Nexus which is why it sounds flat and boring.... Im using the Virus TI for leads and bass now, so im sure the next one will sound much more lively now, just have to finish it!
-
Latest tracks by Dave Pulse there is my first track that is (kindof) finished. let me know what you think hahaha!

yeah man, thats basically what i did. photobooth is the Shizzzz

yeah im reeeaaally stuck on the engineering side of it atm. everyting ends up clashing with everything else and it frustrates the shit out of me! I have basically finished one song (arrangement is pretty shit), but it still gives the idea of what i was trying to accomplish! I should probably just upload it so i can atleast get some feedback on what im doing wrong!

Hi All. Has anyone got the same problem as me???? 1. I start a new track and it starts sounding how i want it which is orsm! 2. As you start layering sounds and adding more instruments etc to your arrangement it starts sound rubbish. 3. get really bored with hearing the same parts of the song over and over for hours. 4. Next step is to get really frustrated and pissed off and start a new track. 5. repeat steps 1 through 4. I have like ten 3/4 finished tracks! fuck! i really need to finish a track so you guys can shame me in a constructive manner (hopefully)

yeah ive tried it a few times and end up getting too distracted with other stuff. Last time my mate came round for a collab and we ended up getting wasted and playing with Photobooth for like 4 hrs and got nothing done.

http://tarekith.com/misc.html this guy makes some pretty cool EQ macros and effects etc. I know its pretty basic, but when ur warping tracks, turn the metronome on when you think you got it right and play it from various points in the song. if its off atall you will notice instantly

I seriously Hope that Trance does make a comeback and that Hardstyle dies the long coming death it deserves! Some of the stuff from Stoneface & Terminal and Sean Tyas etc.. coming out is awesome! I know where your coming from CGB, ive played Electro House for years now but still have a passion for Trance that the general audience don't really share. You can spin Electro basically anywhere (within reason) and people will like it. Just my opinion. Brenton

Hi All. Just wondering if anyone on here is using Logic 9 with one of the new Quad Core i7's???? Im just a bit worried about it running in 64bit. I use a fair few 32bit plugins and heard of some stability issues with Logic's 64bit to 32bit "bridge". Anyone having sucess running one of these as a studio machine? Cheers Brenton
-
Hi Guys. I used Logic for awile and never really routed anything to busses. The only thing i actually ever routed to a bus was a side chain trigger track. The signal chain for each track in Logic scemes much the same as cubase and ableton. you just insert effects in sequence on the left pane of the GUI???? maybe that why my tracks sounded so rubbish???? Brenton

im mainly "trying" to do Trance and Electro House. This new track is something different alltogether. its breaking all the rules! its going to be awesome hahha
-
nah seriously man. I generally make really busy tracks and am having some serious issues with everything clashing with eachother and sounding muddy and shit! I really need to get ontop of EQing and Engineering it all to fit. I started making a new remix about 3 days ago which is sounding promising. Ille keep you posted on the progress Brenton

Hey mate.. Id definitley go for a large diaphragm condenser for your application.. (if your concerned about background noise you should look into appropriate switchable polar patterns.. in particular cardioid and hyper cardioid should suit) hmmm. i wish i knew what you were talking about. The background noise is really giving me the shits! Brenton

I have been hearing that A&H mixers have insane filters! Ive never actually used a A&H mixer before, used basically all the Pioneers, stanton, rane and vestax mixers etc. I guess it doesnt matter all that much, as they ultimately do the same thing. the important thing to master i guess is the Pioneer CDJ's, as 99% of clubs etc use them. I might find someone who has a Xone and have a play with it before i decide to buy one. 100% on buying Pioneer CDJ's though Brenton

Living in Elizabeth Bay but all my gear is out near parramatta.. do you have any tracks i can listen to? Hi Peter. I actually work in Elizabeth Bay All my gear is in the Beaches but. I havent actually made anything that i would consider actually allowing anyone else to hear yet....im a real perfectionist lol. Brenton

Hi All. Im going to buy a new mixer & CDJS in the next few months. Ive already decided on the CDJ900's. Just curious what people's opinions are on the DJM and Xone mixers. To be honest, i have always liked Pioneer mixers and would never hesitate to buy another one. I have had my DJM600 for about 7 yrs now and its never faulted (except a cross fader and channel fader). I think its time for an update and am curious what your opinions between the 2 are....bearing in mind that the Xone is about $800 cheaper than the DJM. Cheers Brenton

I know a guy that runs an Aussie based UK Hardcore Label..... would be much use to anyone though i guess unless you like stomping with Glow Sticks lol. Brenton
