  1. 1. Stanton Str8 .80 turn table Brought this a year ago only used it 2-3 times put a brand new cart on it that cost me $80, cart is a Stanton 505.V3. $80 ONO 2. Boss SP-505 Sampler I've owned this since it was brought for me brand new 5 years ago, realistically only used this thing 30-40 times, comes with box and everything. $380 ONO 3. Stanton SA.3 DJ Mixer. Story with this one is I brought it second hand from an old man, he'd brought himself a Stanton 120 turn table because his old one died and he wanted a good quality one they gave him the mixer because it was a package deal and he'd unpacked it looked at it packed it back up and then I brought it, it's been used 2 or 3 times, so it's as good as new, but I've owned it for a year. $150 ONO I'm located in Newcastle NSW, happy to post at buyers expense but once I've sent it, I take no responsibility for anything that happens to it so it may be worth paying the extra for postage insurance.
  2. So I dropped my friend off at the Airport in Sydney then went to therecordstore and left with: Needle Thrashers Volume 2 Breaksionary Volume 3 Been playing around since I got home when I should be sleeping because I have to drive BACK to Sydney tonight (I live in Newcastle), this will be what kills me!!
  3. I am Mitch, I went to school with Reg, we share the same middle name and I only found out 2-3 days ago he was a DJ and only found out today he was on these forums, ha ha.
  4. I think you should give all your gear to Mitch, I hear, he's a pretty cool guy!
  5. So I'm headed to Sydney in search of battle records. Where should I go?
  6. Well I fixed it and I meant just infront of the counter balance it was only plastic seriously, I went down to my Localy IGA brought Selley's Super Glue, glued it back on, 2 hours later it's holding the weight of the counterweight. CAlled up my local dealer and it was $120 to get a new tone arm in... instead $3.15 packet of Super Glue. Ha ha. Also the needle was broken so I brought a Stanton 505 V3 cartridge with a needle for $80. Had to buy it from StoreDJ in Sydney. As it turns out NO ONE IN NEWCASTLE KEEPS CARTRIDGES AND NEEDLES IN STOCK!!! Had to get my mate to pick it up for me so I could have it for the weekend... Also can anyone tell me how to hook up a cartridge to the head?!?!?!?!?! WHICH PLUG DO I PUT THE CABLES IN?!
  7. Got my STR8 80 today, and the arm is broken... just in front of the control arm...
  8. Yes ebay and yes Paypal. I just have a feeling this guy is keeping the postage money and sending it by regular mail and inventing some tracking number...
  9. I haven't got it yet... It's in the mail still.. apparently. I think the guy is a bit shifty to be honest... HIs estimated delivery time from QLD to here to 15-21 days... he said he posted it on Monday, via registered post, tracking number doesn't exist as far as the post is concerned and from QLD to here should be 2-3 days... But I'll get picks of all my stuff tomorrow I have about $50,000 worth of shit accumulated over 15 years. ha ha
  10. Hi, I'm Mitch. I've been drumming for 13 years, playing guitar for 1, singing for 1 and song writing for 6 months or so. I'm looking for new ways to add more dimensions to my music so I'm going to learn to scratch/mix. Just brought Stanton SA 3 for $120 and a Stanton STR8 80 for $155 so I'm pretty happy. I've already posted in a few forums but I thought I should post here! Thanks guys, Mitch.
  11. Any aus based shops I can buy these from? Anyone have any recomendation for begginer scratching?
  12. LOL picked it up today. Turns out he's an 70 year old guy who got sick of his turntables breaking down on him so he brought a Stanton 120C and got the SA3 free with it. He's never used it and he just threw it up on EBAY. Score 1 for me! Brand new SA3 for $120!
  13. Just brought a 2nd-hander today for $120, is that an okay price?
  14. Does anyone know anything about this mixer? I'm thinking about buying a 2nd hand one. Thanks, Mitch
  15. A number of years ago I looked into getting a setup but I was young and poor. Now that I'm older and not as poor I'm looking into it again. As far as the "why" (am I wanting to scratch) I'm an avid music player and I've been playing drums for 13 years guitar for 1 and blah, blah, blah and I'm looking for another dimension to add to my music. I did a bit of research on turntables and I picked myself up a 2nd hand Stanton STR8 80 for $150 (I thought that was a good price) having learned that these were an acceptable beginner deck for scratching. As far as mixers go though... I am completely utterly and totally lost... I know I need a fader that has an option to cut but... that's all I know, I don't know what mixers have this option, not looking to spend more then a few hundred on a mixer brand new, obviously I'd like something 2nd hand. If anyone can help that would be AMAZING. Thanks, Mitch
