I have a 8", 10"passive and 18" powered sub. I prefer the 10" as it gives crisper sounding bass. Even my daughter's 12" BJ car sub sounds better than the 18" muffled bass rumble boom box. The 18" weighs 31Kg, hate using the thing, wasted 500 dollars at DJ Warehouse. Fab DJ.

Hello again I am quite annoyed that after purchasing NI 2DJ and trying to register on line with NI, that my computer picked up a virus and has to be de bugged again. As well as it costing me 90 bucks I have to spend a day or two reloading all my stuff from my backups. I would have thought that loading a installation CD and following instructions you would be quite safe. Also upset that Trend Virus protection did not stop the Malware infecting my computer again. Im paying them to be a VIP customer. FabDJ

Scenario 1 Source level ? + Mixer level 1~2 + Amp level 8 = good sound Scenario 2 Source level ? > Mixer level 8~9 > Amp level 1~2 = poor sound Senario 1 has a better gain structure. Have reduced levels from pewter and mixer to get good sound from amp. Noticed massive distortion on bob sinclaire song and adjusted i tunes gain levels First time I found the I tunes gain contol cause it sounded shit. Sound is not distorted with hi mixer, low amp levels just does not sound as good with detail as the other way around . I might ask my little brother as he is a audio engineer.but he thinks my stuff is crap and will say "told you so."..

This thread is so old I'm probably just writing to myself to see what it sounds like in print. I would agree in purchasing a licence to play an artists music in public for gain whether for money or for charitable purposes. I dont agree that a licence is required to download your cd's to a pc for the convenience of playback or transport to locations. That is equivalent to charging a tax for carring your cd's in a bag and not in your hands. CD digital to pc digital is not in my opinion a change of format but a change of storage medium.

Dont have any reds on the mixer as pc is on 0db or less. dead flat on I tunes equaliser but with mixer on 8-9 and amp on 1-2 sounds flat With mixer on 1-2 and amp on 8-9 sounds better with more detail in sound. Must be a reason amp can perform better when given more headroom 8-9 with a lower input signal 1-2.

The volume is the same as I am attenulating upstream not at the amp. Upstream gives fuller sound than reducing the volume at the amp.

I play to a 60s audience so the popular sayings in the sixties, just watch Austin Powers, was groovy outa site, cool man, fab gear, in gear etc. As there is already a dj in my region called Austin Powers I thought Fab DJ would suit. Should express your preferred taste in music. You dont want to play music you dont have a handle on as your only guessing popular tastes and will bomb.

Thanks source I want to do mostly house parties and be a small footprint DJ. Been to parties where the DJ takes up half the living room. Wrecks the party layout and pushes people outside, so they dont dance. I take up 6m sq. and need one wall 1m out. I want to fit all my stuff in a small car also as a van or station wagon for everyday use in sunny Queensland takes ages to air condition.

Its working now pressed a few more buttons on ipod music. I had problems playing music on I tunes. Some songs played and some could not find a source. Pill said he uses itunes as backup when he djs and I thought ok if you have access to all your library. I would add songs to I tunes from a memory stick and sometimes from my music library that is on the same pc. I figured that when I removed the memory stick there was no source for itunes to find, but the on board library could be sourced. I reinstalled my playlists from my music library to i tunes and all songs play now. Had me buggered for years.

Have back up everywhere 4 computers in 3 buildings Back up every month, so I feel OK. Bought it at some bomb site industrial estate behind shit creek (Sunshine) from a computer warehouse that advertise in the Age green guide. Wont buy any bigger as they fall apart after time and will destruct before you fill them up.

Hi again laptop crashed and was repaired. Downloaded I tunes and installed and replaced playlists on itunes from memory stick. loaded selected playlists to not overload 8gig ipod memory. Installed ACD3 for other pictures (trial version.) Tried to load I pod and ACD3 pop up comes up asking to be default music source. I say no and it disappears. finished loading ipod, has 4 songs downloaded on it not 3000 Do you think ACD3 is blocking my download to ipod? if so I can wait 25 days for the trial period to end and try again I cant find ACD3 on install/uninstall programs. Ta Source Have tried that also but sounds more tinny than the old pc for some reason. carry the ipod and leads for 3rd backup and for anyone who wants to play their own stuff. No big deal really,died a thousand times on stage so a few more won't matter.

I'ts murder on the dancefloor especially when your PC stalls ect. What do you guys use as a back up? I was thinking of having my CD on cue/ pause ready to go if I have a PC problem but if it is major I would have to CD DJ all night with a limited playlist. and not have time to reboot the PC. Or have a second old laptop with a terrible sound card cued to play with winamp. Crap cuts and poor sound quality but more available songs to play and easier than swapping CD's around.

Hi gentlemen I have a 32 gig memory stick on my key ring Have had it for about 2 years I have about 5000 songs on it and all my personal files and its only a little over half full. It works a treat especially when my laptop was corrupted by a virus recently and had to be wiped and repaired Easy back up. The cap has been lost about 20 times and is getting a bit loose. I had to supa glue the end attached to my keyring and the top as well Been given a hammering as its always in my pocket Love it, Its almost like Paul Hogan in Croc Dundee When I bring it out and say "Thats not a memory stick (their 2Gig stick) This is a memory stick".
