  1. Best advise I could give would be to go visit a few DJ stores and check out what's available. Try as many systems out as you can. Talk to the sales people who usually are DJs themselves or know all the techy stuff about the gear. You may be surprised at what you personally like compared to what others have provided an opinion on. After all, you're the one who has to learn to use it and feel comfortable with it. And then if you out-grow the system, upgrade further down the track.
  2. Could have been because it was local pick up only.
  3. Lightsounds still has it online for $449. Looks like they have the same waiting time for stock.
  4. Ended up selling for $405. That's less than half price. Bargain!! (if only I had the cash at the moment)
  5. 30 mins to go and only at $405!
  6. Are we talking PA or monitors?
  7. Earlier this week I passed Cupe's email addy on to some budding graphic designer, so hopefully one of them will come up with a mega-cool banner.
  8. Up until now, Serato had an exclusive 5 year run on the Rane hardware. If you wanted to use the SL3 box sitting in the club as a sound card, for example, that was not possible. Dj TechTools has learned that there are brand new ASIO and Core Audio drivers that allow any software to use Rane 68 mixers and SL3 boxes as multi-channel sound cards. This is huge because it means some Traktor djs can use the Rane hardware already in clubs as their sound card- greatly simplifying set-up. More of the story here http://www.djtechtools.com/2010/12/08/rane-mixer-asio-core-audio-driver-traktor/

  10. That site's got some pretty cool features. I'm looking for somewhere to set up my new webpage!
  11. You could try your luck on ITM, but you would probably get abused.
  12. The MPK 49 retails for around $1000 so Store DJ's current price of $449 is a bargain. Lightsounds also have it for $449.
  13. And it's got the built-in radio, so you can transit your set live to the masses.
  14. Can you use time-coded cd's and use it as a midi controller??
  15. Welcome
  16. Bongiorno!
  17. Micheal Buble David Campbell Norah Jones Rod Stewart - Greatest American Songbook 1 & 2 Human Nature - Motown Sade It may also depend on the age of the crowd. The older set love this stuff.
  18. Lounge and light jazz is idea. AnNything laid back with some piano or sax works well too. I have a whole set of CDs I keep for this very thing. Will pull them out tonight and list them for you.
  19. If anyone is still keen, I'm involved in the sport here in Aus. I used to play but now help manage the sport and our rep teams. Sydney comp is still in season btw.
  20. From Pioneer's Facebook page; Pioneer Electronics Australia Pioneer was lucky enough to receive two pairs of the HDJ500 headphones in white, prior to the Australian release in early 2011. As a gift to the world's biggest DJ, Tiesto, Pioneer had these headphones engraved with his logo and presented them to the man himself last night in Melbourne at the 360 Electronic Music Masterclass. It was love at first sight for Tiesto, who not only signed a pair, but took a pair with him to use on stage at Stereosonic this weekend in Melbourne. For those of you venturing out to Stereosonic this weekend, look out for the HDJ500W around Tiesto's head! Anyone going to the Melbourne gig?
  21. Any of you guys actually played the sport (Gridiron)? Great game to play.
  22. The Pioneer sales reps must be doing their jobs and pushing the CDJ2000's to as many clubs as they can. Must be offering great deals too.
  23. If you Buy-it-Now before December 4 he'll also through in his CD collection. Looks like a great deal to me.
  24. Becuase if you win one, you're more inclined to keep bidding on the other one and drive the final price higher.
