Prognosis is back for yet another delicious dose of audio visual delights at the hands of some of the finest purveyors of progressive propaganda this fine town has to offer. After a monumental set on the Substance rooftop back in ’10, Danny Bonnici returns to give the Prognosis massive a glimpse into his enviable array of auditory weapons. An amazing musical talent, his huge contribution to the global music scene, both individually and as a member of Nubreed, has cemented him as one of the most highly regarded producers and DJs this country has ever seen. This Melbourne stalwart always pulls out some special treats on his Prognosis visits, so get down and witness it whilst you can before he jets off overseas. And of course, no Prognosis would be complete without the input of residents J-Slyde, Simon Murphy and Aaron Static whose delicious beat-trickery has seen them in high demand across Melbourne. Loaded up with bucketloads of tasty tunes, the madness will no doubt ensue as the boys ensure the party kicks on till the wee hours. The visual aspect of the night will be curated by VJ Pied Piper who will bring his unique brand of visual wizardry to Loop's two 20ft screens. Meanwhile, Citizen.com just upped his latest promo mix. Give it a listen! http://soundcloud.com/citizen-com/citizen-com-dj-mix-breaking

Coming off the end of a most successful year Prognosis are getting set to usher in 2012 the only way they know how - hot beats, good times and a shitload of PROG! Headlining festivities for this edition are Chris Meehan and The Chunky Fuckers. Somewhat of a legendary figure in prog-circles around town, Chris Meehan has done it all - from holding residencies at some of Melbourne's most influential and successful club nights (Qbar Sundays, Republic @ Room 680), through to supporting major international guests such as Sasha, Digweed, Satoshi, Hernan, Seamen and Nick Warren. Representing brands such as global Underground and Renaissance whenever in town, Chris is well respected by his peers and punters and not only recognized as a true DJ, but also a highly accomplished producer, with recent releases on Avante Garde, Baroque and Movement Records, to name a few. Stalwarts in the Melbourne prog scene, The Chunky Fuckers (Jayson Holden and Herc Kass) are well versed in all that is funky and driving. Not just DJ's however, the boys are extremely talented on the production tip, and with third member in tow, Adam Holden, they have had a bevvy of releases out on Underground City, Polytechnic, Movement recordings, Overground Digital and Indigo. Needless to say, when they hit the decks for a 2 hour feature set - mayhem is set to ensue! On support duties, we're very excited to welcome newcomer to the decks - Thomm Brooke. Always on the lookout for fresh and interesting talent, our ears were pricked when we heard his latest promo mix. Not intent on letting such talent go to waste in the bedroom, we've managed to convince him to come down and open up proceedings with his mix of deep and sublime beats. Residents J-Slyde, Simon Murphy and Aaron Static will also be in tow - bringing to the table their usual blend of upfront prog and tech tunes. With our two resident VJs on a break, visual duties for this edition will be handled by the extremely talented Manoeuvre.tv aka Richard De Souza. One of Melbourne's, if not Australia's, most talented visual artists, Richard has done them all - Big Day Out, Summadayze, Parklife, along with visual production on Ministry Of Sound commercials, and much much more. To say we're in good hands would be an understatement! LINEUP: Chris Meehan (Long Term Effects, Kiss FM) The Chunky Fuckers (2 hours - Polytechnic / Indigo) J-Slyde (Substance) Simon Murphy (Substance / Interview / Unstable Sounds) Aaron Static (Indigo / Hyline / Spherax) Thomm Brooke VISUALS: Manoeuvre.tv https://www.facebook.com/manoeuvre.tv PRICE: FREE!! Darkbeat & Rock Like This presents: PLUMP DJs (UK) [Exclusive Melbourne Show] Friday 27th Jan @ Brown Alley The Plump DJs, Lee Rous and Andy Gardner, have been pushing their unique sound since the late 90s and have cemented themselves as avid leaders of diverse electronic music. Pioneers of the early Breaks scene, The Plump DJs gained heavyweight status through their success of still legendary artist albums such as ‘A Plump Night Out’ and ‘Eargasm’, which then, in turn, lead to their groundbreaking residency at Londons infamous club 'Fabric'. Moving through more recent years, the Plump DJs have further pushed their unique sound through their own 'Grand Hotel Records’ label, merging breakbeat styles with an electro, house and Bass vibe to continue their supply of ever evolving beats. With releases like; “Boomer”, “Light Fantastic” and the groundbreaking “Gobstopoper”, Not to mention their collaboration and remix projects for acts like Deadmau5, Stanton Warriors, Loops of Fury, Fatboy slim and Orbital to name just a few, the quality of releases remain incredibly exciting, with constant worldwide support from other industry heavyweights, global club plays, and respect from all direction. I use Discogs alot and have never had any issues with them. As mentioned, sometimes shipping mishaps, but nothing that has ever been the sellers fault. They're a great resource for hard to find music!

We're usually open until 5am - which is when their liquor license ends. -
HAHA. That wasn't my point entirely. Just wanted to spread the word! But thanks for the support guys. Pretty amped about it all. Personally I think it's a great lineup. Flying Lotus and Sasha are two of my favourite artists at the moment - so it's going to be awesome seeing them in a festival setting. Sasha always brings something special to the table when he plays at larger type festivals, and i've never seen the man play a bad set in Melbourne. As for FlyLo - fukker is on another level, and is going to bend some fucking heads! He was billed for that GV event a few years back, and was really good. Had the whole full piece band and rocked the place. Was a killer event... went J5, Snoop, then BBoys. Such quality on offer! haha

Couldn't find a thread in here about this already... excuse me if there's already one! For any after some, I can get onto really cheap industry tickets for $145. Just chuck me a PM if you're in need!

[MELB] PROGNOSIS @ Loop - Dec 17th ft PQM, Jed, Taran M
J0rdz replied to J0rdz's topic in DJ Headquarters
It may not have been - he was booked last week to play his first non-trance set, but they double booked him and he didnt end up playing. So this will be his official non-trance set, EVER! haha Thanks man! Yep, the Scarlet stage. Well amped and hellishly nervous. It should be awesome, though Are you going to make it to Prognosis this time round?? -
One year on from their first event under the Prognosis banner, with no sign of slowing down, the krew are getting set to celebrate the only way they know how - hot beats, tasty beverages, and shenanigans a'plenty! Intent on doing something special for such a momentous occasion, we couldn't think of a better artist to headline and celebrate Prognosis' first birthday than NYC protégé come Melbourne beat wizard, PQM. With a DJ and production career that dates back to the early 90's, PQM has a vast musical knowledge that will no doubt be used to good measure. With the opportunity to flex his musical muscles over a two hour feature set, PQM is set to delve into his extensive collection of tunes to deliver a set of truly epic proportions. After turning the FB world green with envy over his international exploits, local trance favourite Jed returns from overseas and will be stepping up to the plate to play his first ever ‘non-trance’ set. As part of Rush with events pushing techno and progressive alongside trance, Jed is well versed in the sounds that will no doubt whip Loop into a frenzy. Substance kingpin and crowd favourite Taran M returns from quasi-retirement to get amongst the lunacy as he lays down the sweetest of beats and other tasty treats from his repertoire. Rounding out the night will of course be the Prognosis residents J-Slyde, Simon Murphy and Aaron Static. Expect the unexpected as the three continue their musical missions into melodic madness. No Prognosis would be complete without captivating, hypnotizing visuals which will once again be provided by Vdmo Kstati. With a booking schedule jam packed with festival and club events, the forever growing arsenal at this VJ’s disposal will ensure the night has an extraordinary audio visual feast!
