Equal Dose is proud to announce the next phase in our ever evolving audio project. We’ve pulled out all the stops for this one and will be bringing the full power of a Funktion One sound system combined with intelligent lighting by Fourth Phase to Melbourne’s home of underground sound, My Aeon. But of course what are speakers and lights without talented artists to deliver the music we love? And so we welcome three new top class acts to our ensemble including Mental Extensions, Backroom Reality and Mish’Chief, plus the infamous Equal Dose posse performing both inside and out! The Clarity crew is extremely excited to be celebrating its third birthday after what has been a very enjoyable three years. Clarity started as a continuation from our many nights out to some of Melbourne’s great events like Sunny, Darkbeat and Pretty Simple. We started in a backyard decked out with lights, lasers, a great sound system and entry to the party was crawling through a tent, and we have never looked back. Our concept has always remained the same, we’re not running a party, we’re having a party and like minded people are invited. From our early days at Bunker Lounge with guests such as Virginia Le, Rollin Connection and Jamie Stevens, From the memorable nights at Korova Milk Bar with great Melbourne talent such as Ozzie La and Stuart McKeown. From bush doofs like Festivus to ridiculous NYE house parties with more speakers than you know what to do with. We can’t of course forget some of our best parties to date, held at Brown Alley, such as our first birthday with Gavin Keitel, the infamous Christmas party with Simon Slieker where we almost drank the bar dry, Our second birthday with PQM, Danni B, Gavin Martin and Harley Augustine, Last but definitely not least was Kasey Taylor and Luke Chable earlier this year which certainly raised the bar by a few notches. To help us continue in true Clarity style, we have special guest B6, a fantastic producer and DJ hailing from Shanghai. B6 is China's most prolific and respected independent electronic musician and DJ. As a teenager, B6 started his own independent record label (Isolation Music), and composed critically-acclaimed experimental sound art, ambient, and post-rock albums while also producing sound and designing album covers for various alternative music acts on the mainland. B6's graphic works have been exhibited in museums in the UK, Europe, and North America. In the years since, B6's productions have explored a variety of genres, from synth-pop to breakcore and drum and bass. In 2008, B6 released a new solo album -- B6 "Post Haze" on China's Modern Sky Records. "Post Haze" shows a new maturity in B6's music, with precision programming, dance-floor rocking rhythms and glitch-happy beats. Starting with smooth, atmospheric minimalism, moving into mind-bending tech-house, then a bit of bangin' techno, "Post Haze" promises to be a landmark release out of China's developing independent music scene. In 2009, B6's "Post Haze" second edition is released in Europe and has received great reviews by the European electronic music community. Clarity is capping off what has been a busy few months for everyone with a more relaxed and intimate party with help from Motek, Joe Bennett and Clarity crew XiTatiON, Inge Marsetio, Phil Moore, Olives, Dave Juric and Mark Stewart. Like our original 'backyard clarity' parties, anything goes! The Dj's can play whatever they want as long as they keep people dancing and have fun doing it. Come have a relaxing beer with some like minded people or party into the early hours and watch the sun come up to some quality tunes.
