those are published and distributed compilations you are referring to. and have nothing to do with what you where talking about above it. as of yet the RIAA in America's the most militant of the recording associations is yet to successfully sue any one for file sharing. they have tried a lot of cases yet all have failed.

not sure about the broken beats only cause i've never really looked. they are more about jazzy, funky, soulful side of house. i used to shop at the store in the city many years back and become friendly with Greg the old owner. then he had to shut that store so i use to travel out there to get my records not a huge fan of the new owner, bit to pushie for my likes but he knows his tracks ... unfortunatly i've gone digital just over a month ago due to budget restrictions DAM uni and part time work. but i still love vinyl and always will

thought i post a little review on the latest toy in my collection the other day i was perusing ebay as one does during work hours, and i came across something that i always regretted not getting a Vestax PCM 250. the PCM 250 is Vestax's specialist 2 channel house mixer at first look impressions the box is really long and skinny.... well it is a 19inch rack mounted mixer once opened you are greeted by the golden glow of an old school vestax the first thing you notice about the mixer is the 6 giant EQ knobs more on these later. above each knob is a small fader which also is part of the Eq features, these litter freq cut faders act just like the kill switches on lots of other mixers. only that unlike the switches they have a really nice smooth slope on the freq's. the mixer has one phono and two line inputs to each channel witch is great you can have your technics, serato and a CDJ's plugged in to each channel there is also an aux channel in case of emergency's check out some of my photos of this little beauty after an hour or soo use... i love this mixer more that you would believe... the eq's are sublime. really give vestax kudos for some of the risks that they took a few years back (not a real fan of the new stuff, the 'imixer' look Yuk) but there old stuff is really sturdy, the knobs feel like they are bolted to the centre of the earth faders are firm but that's how i like them. of course like are a few gripes, like most vestax's of that era the cueing is a pain in the arse... with something like this they should have had pre Eq cueing, the out put isn't as loud as the ol xone. the ability to disable the crossfader would have been a very worth wile feature on the mixer... ( any one know how to rig a bypass? am willing to remove it all together) over all a great little mixer BUT did i mention how good the Eq was ?
