Well platform 3 shut its doors for the last time. so it marks the end of a flipside era after two years they asked us back to play the farewell. oh boy what a night as the bar shut oh my god it's a spoon
-
cheers mate... should be a cracker of a night.. i'm still a little devastated that i'll have to go looking for a new venue for flipsides
-
ok i know this is really last minute but here's the deal The bar that i do my monthly sunday session at has just sold and is about to change owners. (by the sounds of it might be the end of flipside) they are throwing a farewell party and have asked flipside to provide the tunes. SO we are throwing the final Flipside @ Platform 3 THIS SATURDAY NIGHT... would love to meet a few of you. swing past and say hi, have a drink (some of melbourne's best cocktails are served here) and listen to some really sweet tunes. Free entry Platform 3 472 Church st Richmond eddie 0438 573 255

yer im really happy with the forums i am just try to boost the image of the forums... its better to look busy with fewer sections rather than have this sparse forum that gets one post a day if that in each section its just about appearances it also makes it soooooo much easy to check new post.
-
There are way too many section on this forum wich means that most get full of crap you have 48 topics and only 200 members... do the maths :S personally i would only create more sections one one gerneral section gets to crowded just a suggestion
-
stationary like every project i start... i never finish it still need to do the doors then its done... till i decide to reamake it

my mistake look i saw him talking about the rane 57 low to mid mmm, i'd tend to go second hand , less channels or gimics than down grade the over all quality of the mixer. defiantly look in to second hand gear and the same rules apply. Xones are gold - 32 is a nice little mixer though the gains where on the back :S old school House vestax's cueing can be funny but they are built proof and are really nice to mix on nuo 2-3 have got great reviews
-
welcome back...again
-
sorry to say tommy if hes looking at the 57 price range. dont bother with much form that list Vestax Vmc is ok.. (the VMC serries are a little toyish PCV andPMC serries are a lot better but there cueing is odd and a little clunky but vestax make some of the nicest Eq's see my thread about the PMC250 http://www.ausdjforums.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=17 The zero 4 has some wicked features but i would be looking at: The Rane Empath $1599 (personally the rotaty edition but they make a linear fader version too) It is very highly regarded, no effects Xone 42 $1599 are all beautiful mixers smooth, warm sounding with feture packed not gizmo packed but the Fx loop on the 92 is poorly interrogated. BUT THAT FILTER mmmm only has one effect but what else do you need when it sounds sooo good Elcer, Nuo 4 $1395 ive played on a EVo 4 and apart form wobbly knobs OMG the effects are well thought out and it is a dream to mix on. unfortiunatly they are missing on the nuo. but the nuo does have a midi and the same base mixer. as for pioneer: they are nothing special but are stock standard. there effects are plentiful but control over them is limited. i find they do thejob but i really dont go gaga over them. this is my opinion but saying that i own a mixer i bought second had for $500 and i love the thing to death due to the fact that it doesn't have effects or anything fancy its is just simple and clean and sounds great. OLD SCHOOL VESTAX FOR THE WIN for a bit of background ive own: Gemini 676ps Vestax PMC 175 Xone 32 PMC 250 as for what i've used, the list is vast and varried. form busted up numarks...(could have been new ) to xone 92s and anything in between

Support your local businesses... or at least buy second hand mmmm just had a brilliant idea... we have a commercial account with JB.... might request a quote

haha i've been going back to vinyl as of late

i'm not tall in stature, my parents where once described as the Shetland ponies of humans but the reasoning behind that specific hight was so i didn't have to bend my back at all. with my shoulders relaxed and my arms at ninety degrees my hand rest on the table top. as i don't scratch i don't need to make big movements over the table top. if your a mix dj i recommend it.... NO MORE SORE BACKS OR TENSE SHOULDERS this was bit of a surprise shot that a 'friend' took of me (just out of the shower) but it shows the ergonomics of the table
