  1. Just watched this and thought I'd share this here. For anyone that hasn't seen it, he goes on to talk about (unquestionably) the worlds more popular sample and what affect it had on the underground and popular music culture, as well as talking a bit about copyright http://youtu.be/5SaFTm2bcac
  2. Well the rest of the line up is pretty decent. The experience would be awesome! Oh well, I'll try for edc in Vegas
  3. There goes any chance I had of going
  4. I'd look into these before committing to the Pioneer controller. Denon make a good controller
  5. What's the extra $150? If that's the upgrade to serato DJ, isn't it $120?
  6. It's a cool intro controller. I was looking at it just to take on the road with me but I've opted for something else. As for it having no gain / trim knobs, it's got a normalising system built in so you don't need to worry about mismatched gains. It's a beginners / basic controller so it carries the basic features to get started
  7. Was there ever one for 9?
  8. hey guys, i've kicked off 2014 with an entry to a remix comp. i've gone for the bounce so have a listen and let me know what you think i'm digging this style at the moment! https://soundcloud.com/spitfiremusic/evix-pump-this-party-spitfire
  9. Fuck I forgot about this lol the weekend has been flat stick. I'll take out my wax tomorrow and get back to ya
  10. hey guys, i've been sitting on this for ages now but i've finally uploaded it, and it's a free download. https://soundcloud.com/spitfiremusic/fedde-le-grand-nicky-romero enjoy
  11. I've jumped on board the Sol Republic band wagon and I've hooked myself up with Tracks Ultra V12 headphones and Amps HD ear buds (which I've had for a few weeks now). The headphones aren't for djing but they're a decent set of cans. I'd also recommend the Amps for anyone who wants a decent set of iPhone ear buds. Fully functional buttons and mic with your iPhone or iPad and iPod.
  12. Look into breaks compilations. Breakspoll is a good one but not sure of it's still going. I got a stack of breaks on vinyl and some on mp3 but I can't remember many labels right now. A few artists off the top of my head would be Koma and Bones, Afgan Headspin, Ed Solo, Deekline… that's all I remember right now :/ if you want I can try find some time to commit to my collection for ya and I'll flick ya a txt with some stuff to check out
  13. We didn't have any issues with it the other night and we thrashed it. It's pretty solid for a fresh program
  14. I used LPX for 12hrs yesterday (no joke) and it's pretty refined to 9. The black interface is a cool change and some of the new features are cool. With most things though there's parts of X I like and parts of 9 I prefer. I believe the 64bit makes a massive difference too. If you have 64bit compatible plugs I'd recommend it
  15. sup everyone, i'm in need of a home mixing set up, nothing serious hence why i'm looking at some basic digital gear. cdj's are still my weapons of choice but i want a basic set up at home so i can record some demos and what not. i've been looking around and i'm digging serato, the shit part is i'm being a bit of a tightass at the moment and ideally i don't wanna fork out over 800 bucks. pioneer are releasing a DDJ-SB controller soonish (in stores) and i've considered that. however, the fact it doesn't have gain/trim knobs trips me out and its putting me off. i've looked at the DDJ-SR (i think it is) and that's an option if i need one. on the other hand, i like the idea of the traktor x1 mk2. it's cheap, comes with traktor pro and i can continue to play vinyl along side it with my current set up, without timecode vinyl… but i'm not too interested in traktor. so, for someone who isn't dedicating to a "bedroom" set up, should i just go with the X1 and not be so fussy or are controllers with jog wheels the way to go?
  16. cheers mitch ox- its for this electrified events thing. my mate showed me and they want basically anything. they do all the hard dance events in town. i wasn't gonna do it but thought i'd just try it out. i haven't played out anywhere in a while so gave it a go
  17. sup guys, this is the first mix i've done in a very long time. i thought i'd enter a mix comp to play nye and i left it real late so i hit record and went for it. the sucky thing about this comp is i gotta get listens and likes to play (not a fan but i submitted it before i was aware) so i'm playing the spam game atm. if you could share this with your buddies and your buddies, buddies that would be grand
  18. best. set up. ever.
  19. sup guys, here's my new bootleg. i can't post it to soundcloud because of copyright infringements so there's a link in the description where you can download it from. let me know what you's think
  20. LabRat

    imovie

It's supposed to be a basic video editing program but it's more complicated then it needs to be
  21. I guess id be DJ not so much, a year ago I would've been DJ rich daddy lol
  22. LabRat

    imovie

iMovie is shit. It's very dumb
  23. A Vocoder is what you'd be looking for. There's a few out there with some cool built in effects
  24. What do you mean by effect sounds? If you're just talking about effects then you can slap on anything you like. Low pass and high cut filters are very common
  25. anyone got any info to share on this one with logic, NI and 32bit 3rd party plugins?
