I'm not sure if this is in the right thread but I got no idea what this stuff is. I need music that's similar to flume. I'm djing an engagement party and the guy wants a heap of this stuff. I don't have any of it so I need some help in finding some in 2 weeks. Cupe, if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move bud Thanks lads

lol I'm not participating in that. It's bad enough I have to look at mine every day

I think some guys have different monitors to represent certain frequencies or elements. A guy I use to get my stuff mastered from has a few and they have different frequency ranges. He has good studio monitors to 4" crap computer speakers that sound like ass

I need to build a proper studio. When I move out (famous last words) I'll get it done. I hate my cables, they look disgusting, worse than those ^^

deadmau5 laughs & urges Facebook fans to Unlike his page

How do you buy likes? Who are these people that "like" your page? -
I saw this thread and thought I'd bring it back to life. It could be a good reference once there's a few posts Trash 2 by iZotope *parts taken from iZotope website* - 60+ distortion algorithms, perfect for transforming your sound into something never before heard. - Unique distortions, from massive to mild and everything in between, with a new, customizable, multiband Waveshaper. - Make your audio speak and growl with two redesigned Filter modules, each one featuring new vowel formant filters, screaming peaks, node modulations, and more. Pros - Quick and easy to learn - Clean and animated waveforms - Big, crisp sound - Solid preset library Cons - It's not the cheapest if you're working within a budget. $250 US ($278 AU) It's still early days with the plugin and from what I've used of it, it's pretty powerful. Don't have much against it at the moment but if I find something that's a bit weird I'll update the post Here's a simple electro baseline just to illustrate the power potential of this thing. This is mild processing too, basic wave shaping, small filtering and some dynamic processing, resampled with fabfilter Pro-C compressor and Pro-Q equaliser, to take some of the bottom end out. https://soundcloud.com/spitfiremusic/trash2_off-on-16bit-44100/s-5DjmQ

deadmau5 accuses Wildstylez of Ripping of melody
LabRat replied to OxyKon's topic in DJ Headquarters
If you took something from my tracks and used them in your tunes, without the effort to manipulate the sample from originality, I'd take action, regardless how simple it is. They sued Men At Work for the plagiarism of that Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree or whatever it is. If music sounds the same, do something about it to make it different. Music is "all the same" if you make it the same. Sorry, I disagree with everyone that makes this comment. -
deadmau5 accuses Wildstylez of Ripping of melody
LabRat replied to OxyKon's topic in DJ Headquarters
What the mau5 is saying is that they copied the lot without being creative with the chords. There's other tweets going around about the use of chords and whatever. I'm with deadmau5 on this. He has a case here -

Ideal Frequency ranges of bass/sub bass/drums
LabRat replied to mattus123's topic in Music Production
If you got a good EQ that can solo frequencies (I use fabfilter pro Q for example) I solo the sub frequencies and move the frequency dial further along until I can hear the sub tones and put my cutoff around there. Each patch is different but it's between 30Hz and 40Hz. If you can get an EQ that can solo frequencies it'll help you heaps -
hey guys, here's a dubplate kinda tune from myself and Oxy. it's got some deep and subby vibes so check it out and have a listen https://soundcloud.com/spitfiremusic/spitfire-oxykon-drink-the-ale

I don't rate vengeance at all. I have the packs and they're basically rips from other packs. They're good for their one shot drums and a handful of loops. Hydrogen (it's spelt a little differently though) are good packs. Head over to sounds to sample by beatport and you'll find heaps of stuff there

Lock out laws aren't going to sold anything. Violence, whether it be fuelled by alcohol or dugs, whatever, has nothing to do with the venues. People are pissed before they leave the house. Maybe bartenders and security staff should get more training in identifying the drunk and disorderly? It's possible… spend $4m on putting more cops on the street. It's not our fault that a handful of people are fuck heads go out thinking they're all UFC. Instead of throwing them in jail, chuck them in a ring and let them have a good old fashion flogging

Ideal Frequency ranges of bass/sub bass/drums
LabRat replied to mattus123's topic in Music Production
i'd work from that chart to understand what things do. yeah, when i use cut off i mean nothing below that frequency. it works in opposite way too, high cut offs would mean nothing beyond the frequency -
Ideal Frequency ranges of bass/sub bass/drums
LabRat replied to mattus123's topic in Music Production
well the numbers change every time but i can give you a rough example as to what i do. you want your sub to control the lower frequencies. sub bass i usually start cutting off around 30hz and boost up some mid low frequencies to give it some depth. the bass synths i would start around 100hz - 150hz (or more depending on the sound) to avoid phasing with the sub. synths i would cut off the frequencies that would clash with the subs or with other frequencies from other synths. the drums sections are the same idea. it all depends on the patch or sample you use which will determine what frequencies you will cut off or increase. hope it helps you out. just keep your ears open -
Behringer mixer http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/1002.aspx As far as soundcards go, there's heaps around so just pick what you're after. Example, I use Cakewalk by Roland http://www.rolandus.com/products/details/1089 some use Native Instruments, M-Audio, Lexicon, Line6… just search around to find one that suits your needs
-
you can do it a few ways. can buy a USB sound card, or get a little 2ch behringer mixer and use the output of the mixer to your speakers and plug your computer into the mixer. those little berry mixers are really good

join groups on soundcloud that are relevant to what you're looking for and share your stuff with them. it's a good way to start
-
i know nothing about this stuff but i can hear that you've used something from the original stems. they sound different but have some similarities to them
-
looks interesting. thanks lads

just wanna know if anyone has done this before, or can point me in a simple direction of getting it started. cupe recommended Veetle when i asked the question before, but i wanna know how i could stream live using a screen capture, like you see on youtube etc… i wanna give it a go so i can produce live, or use it to try explain things a little easier
-
i think the original artists just want you to be creative with it. if you look at the entry info to remix comps they ask you to be original and not overkill the use of the original stems
