  1. I wonder how hard it is to build your own site. Can't be any worse than what soundcloud is atm
  2. hey errbody some of you may have heard my remix of Spaceman. well, i'm happy to finally announce that it's available to download thanks for your support. the more support i get means the more free stuff i give out click "Buy" to download. dunno why Soundcloud don't give you the option to change it anymore :/ https://soundcloud.com/whoislabrat/hardwell-spaceman-lab-rat-remix
  3. Soundcloud is the way to go. Most, if not all, will ask for a soundcloud link
  4. If I wasn't working I would legit do this. Great thing about Adelaide is your in the centre so flights to everywhere are dirt cheap. Seriously, if the need arises again post it up here and if I'm not working il be more than glad to help! thats some dedication right there. if you were gonna do that i don't think i'd get you to fill in for some shitty pub gig lol it would have to be something more worth while
  5. it'll frustrate for ages! don't let it do that, just get away from it for a while and get your mind off it and when you get back to it you'll be sweet
  6. I think this has been sorted. It wasn't even my problem to start with :/ first dnb DJ is defs oxy. Mitch. Providing you pay for your own shit you're more than welcome lol
  7. Hey guys, I'm chasing a DJ to play this weekend. Sorry for the late notice. Friday night playing commercial dance for about 1-2hrs, and Saturday night playing funky house and commercial dance from 7-11/11:30. If anyone is interested flick me a PM or comment below
  8. With me, the main idea I usually have never really turns into the end result lol if I sit down and try and think of something it doesn't really happen. When I hit a wall with a track I'm working on I just walk away from it for a while. It gets your mind off it and when you get back to it you may have fresh ideas for it from something as simple as making a sandwich. Some days it just doesn't happen and that's the way it is. My way of thinking is to not force it out, let it just happen
  9. I probably should've bought these instead of my Sol Republic's :/
  10. All good man. I'll be popping my head around a bit more. I've got some stuff I'm working on
  11. So this thing doesn't have a proper name yet but this Saturday night I'll be throwing down big room and Melbourne all night! Perthites, come check it out. I'll be on from 8pm. This is the first "electro only" night at Lakers so I wanna try get a good reception so it stays on. The place goes off on Friday nights with my good buddy Grizzly behind the decks, so let's keep the vibe going for Saturday!
  12. I'll share this for ya tonight. Just got home from work
  13. Beats are ok, but I also say no. There's much better options for much cheaper. I don't need to say much more than what's already posted
  14. Hussle Recordings Hype Recordings Safari Music Pop Rox has some bounce. They're the main ones. I have music from other labels but can't remember them. If you look through them, have a look at the "what other people bought" section. You'll see stuff from SCNDL, Uberjak'd, Reece Low, Kronic, Krunk, WhoKillerMickey, Zac Waters, and obviously Joel Fletch and Sparks. Those guys are doing pretty big things atm
  15. did you end up having a play with this?
  16. that's not a bad price. i'm planning to replace mine sometime so i might look into that myself
  17. thanks for the reup! i'm downloading now. i don't need any more samples (i have millions of them) just downloading out of curiosity lol
  18. just 2 speakers. 1 left, and 1 right. don't worry about a sub if you're working within a budget. the KRK's are ok, but i'd say head into your local music store and just have a listen to different ones and have a chat with the sales guys. I have Behringer 6" Truths and they work sweet. i paid about 400 bucks for them too which is every better! i also got Fostex 8" somethings and they sound ok. i paid about $700 for the pair for those
  19. 88 keys isnt really necessary unless you're planning on playing pieces which cover the whole octave range. I've been playing the piano for yonks and apart from playing on an actual piano, i've basically been using a 61 key to make my piano hooks, which works ok. if you do plan on playing sheet music i'd say go for a 76 key (if they still make them. haven't seen one in a while). it gives you that extra few keys which really helps when playing bass lines
  20. hey mate, i'm just gonna throw my 2 cents here just to add to all the confusion lol i'll probably repeat a few things some others have said too 1. Laptop/Computer If you're looking to do things on the "cheap" i'd suggest spend the money and get a MacBook Pro, as has already been suggested. GarageBand comes free so i'd say get stuck into that to understand the basics. once you get your head around it you can either upgrade to Logic (GarageBand is a watered down version of Logic so it'll be easier to jump into) or a DAW of your choice. 2. Programs/Software DAW's as above. Production wise, jump on the Komplete band wagon by NI. it comes with all the essential stuff from Native Instruments to get you going. you can always buy other plugins as you need it. 3. Keyboards/MIDI Controllers a midi controller is all you need these days. i wouldn't worry about anything over 3 octaves, unless you're planning to use it for playing the piano. all the other fancy knobs and pads arent really an issue either unless you're looking for the flexibility of "live" macro controlling and what not. 4. Anything Ive missed? good pair of headphones and a decent set of monitors and i'd say you'll be ready to roll
  21. I got some of those in Melbourne. I wear them everywhere now and they're just a wee bit better than the foam ones lol they're a bit uncomfortable when putting headphones over the top
  22. Traktor sound cards would be the way to go if you're playing with traktor. My sound card (which will probably need upgrading soon anyway) is only a production thing so I'm not sure what else would be fit for live stuff
  23. dis is now a free download click Buy on the SC linkage and it'll take you to Dropbox. let me know if it skitzes out or something and i'll fix thanks for the support! the more love means more free shit <3
  24. Nah not at all mate. Buy it new
