  1. Ugh, ok so the brakes have already hit with this one. I think I have that ear infection again so I'm planning to hit the sky's Tuesday or Wednesday next week now, so the first or second of July I'll be gracing the Victorian grounds with my WA goodness
  2. Hey Mitch, are you in Bendigo or you down in Melbourne now?
  3. Melbournites... i'm gonna be making my way sometime next week and am probably gonna hang around for a few days. haven't completely worked it out yet but touch down is definite for next week. who's doing what?
  4. Nah there's no psy in there. It's all public enemy. I did sample him in a different track a while ago though lol What is icq? lol
  5. hello fellow ADJF peoples. so i've been slaving away working on a stack of new tunes. amongst all that, i've whipped up a freebie! here it is! click "Buy" or read the description. i'm being a bit cheeky with the whole "like to download" thing but it's all about growing that fan base hearts4all https://soundcloud.com/whoislabrat/public-enemy-bring-the-noise-lab-rat-remix
  6. Hey mate. 1000's are atill bulletproof players, however they're a bit out-dated now. If you're planning to use traktor or serato then the 1000's will be perfect for playing with time code. Bare in mind you won't be as to use them with rekordbox or as hdmi (if you'd planned on doing so) The pioneer mixers (IMO) are terrible. If you are planning to swing down that road I'd suggest an 800 or 700. They should be a bit cheaper now and still have the same functions as the rest (give or take the digital capabilities). As for your question in regards to the software, rekordbox is just a software for pioneer products that render your files to load up with the cdjs quickly. I don't think you can use it in the way of traktor or serato. Speaking of which, traktor I feel is more of a performance tool with the use of remix decks and the vast array of controllers it has. Serato is good for mixing and what not. Either way, they do the basic functions of mixing the same. Serato is a little more expensive. I'm not sure what this box is but if you're going to use time code cd's I wouldn't really suggest getting a controller unless you're using traktor and you're planning on triggering loops or cues
  7. not a fan of the drop but the breaks style intro is sick
  8. dem deadmau5 feels. nice track man
  9. So this is mine. iMac is the hub of my production. My MBP is usually for the other stuff. I got my Korg Triton Extreme on the left, a Korg nanoKEY2, NI Kore controller and that's about it. Got my berry truths on stands I welded (they do the job) and a krk 10" sub on the floor. Doesn't look great but it does the trick for now
  10. You looking to hire DJ's for functions?
  11. Dat juicy wiggle http://youtu.be/Wq3nnGdJAGQ
  12. so, a buddy of mine downloaded this and gave it a bash. from the spiel he gave me today, it's quite the solid plugin apparently. i will be downloading this right after node finishes and will probably instal sometime sunday or following days.
  13. the player is free to download. get kontakt, get node i'm downloading this now. they have 2 more packs on their website which seem worth while checking out. before i drown myself in too many plugins i'll have a bash at this first and see what it's like.
  14. This is one I will definitely download! Cheers buddy
  15. Oh yeah that's right. Bloody melbournians and your disrespect for health and safety
  16. If this was at shape I know the feeling all too well. My ears were cooked for 4 days. I wear plugs now and it's so much better. I have what Mitch has and I picked then up from store DJ for about $15. I use to wear the foam plugs the tradies wear and they're fine. Usually ask over the bar for them and they have them at the back
  17. Why not get a hold of an sx or sr? It's a serato controller but has the common pioneer functionality. The r1 is a cool idea but the sr or sx may be a better option
  18. I may download if it's gonna be about $250 afterwards.
  19. The a&h mixers are built pretty well. I have an xone42 and it's been used a lot. The paint is still good and the faders are fine still. I've probably had mine for about 3 years now and it's been through a fair amount of mixing
  20. I'm an a&h guy all the way. The sound quality is awesome and their filters and EQs are sharp and clean. Even for scratching the cross fader isn't too bad but if you're mainly gonna mix go the a&h
  21. Lads, please… lol
  22. TT's are the wrong way
  23. I didn't see that bit. Sounds good ox! Keep us posted. You never know what can happen when you talk to people
  24. Oi for future reference, there's a place that's just opened up next door to my work called Sound Town and they do repair work
