  5. some of you are aware of this tune and i've finally decided to release it! It's a free download so if you like it do the whole like and repost stuff. i don't do any of that hypeddit stuff so yeah enjoy https://soundcloud.com/whoislabrat/pirates-of-melbourne
  6. I think you need to find something that's going to cater for everything you need. It's all good buying a sub that has enough power to blow up an indoor sports centre but it's going to absolutely demolish the houses and halls you're playing in. Find something that's going to provide enough low end for all your work
  7. i've been through a bit and amongst all the shit, i've experienced some awesome things which no one can ever take away from me. i've been a bit negative over the last few months because things haven't been going exactly the way i'd hoped but sometimes it's the way it goes and it's how you end up dealing with it. however, i'm not sure if i'd change anything. obviously i'd like it to be much easier and less full of drama but my road has built character and it's gotten me to where i am today. some of you guys know i was a vinyl junkie and played dubstep for a few years before hitting the clubs playing dutch house and electro. i too played online radio but have more experience in venues. i've played for a lot of people and for nearly no one. i could be one of these all-round dj's and have work every day of the week (agents words) but i choose not to because i don't enjoy playing a bunch of random shit. one thing i may change personally is to stop wearing my heart on my sleeve and to get so involved in everything. i've learnt that you gotta be in it for yourself, especially in WA. no one is here to truly help you, so in the wise words of captain jack sparrow and master gibbs, "take what you can, give nothing back".
  8. yah, i'm playing after him so i'll be dropping all my new shit straight off the blocks haha gonna be one of those guys

  12. Sonalksis FreeG The Sonalksis FreeG is everything you need in a master fader. A simple, but absolutely indispensable plug-in, the FreeG extends the functionality of a typical audio host by providing a large-format style fader, along with ultra accurate metering. FreeG helps to maximise workflow with extended, customizable metering, and multiple control features and settings. When working with digital audio, a lack of fine metering and extended signal flow control in the host is a common issue. FreeG helps to improve workflow in the host by providing these features in the insert chain. By delivering enhanced control of amplitude, phase and pan (stereo version) in the insert chain as well as fine metering, with user configurable industry standard ballistic options, the freeG is the perfect master control. 13. My set up… it's all gone! I couldn't see 3,5 grand worth of gear collecting dust so I boxed it all. Now I wait til I move out to set it all up again. Rip for now little ones
  14. I envy that desk space lol
  15. tried and tested, works really well! http://www.cableguys.de/pan-cake.html PanCake is a free plugin that allows you to create most flexible panning modulations. Key features: Creative modulation tool: Create complex pan modulations with ease. Unique waveform drawing capabilities: Construct your own modulation curves in a very intuitive manner. Waveforms can be easily drawn using soft or hard control points, thus producing gentle transitions or sharp bends in the waveform. Customized waveforms: Up to 10 customized waveforms can be stored. LFO speed: LFO speed can be set free-running from 0.02 Hz to 5.24 kHz. It can also be set in rhythmic units synced to the host sequencer, from a fast 1/128 note modulation up to 32 bars. Always in sync: The LFO will always stay in sync, even when you make tempo changes in your host software, or jump ahead to different parts of your track. Complete parameter control via automation: Absolutely everything in PanCake can be automated. Even the shape of the modulating waveform can be automated. And if you want to use more than four modulation curves in a song, you can automate the plugin to switch between them. New in version 2: A precise display of channel left/right volume for helpful visual control, an option to trigger the LFO via MIDI notes, a dry/wet control, plus a redesigned interface. System Requirements Windows: 2 GHz CPU with SSE2 support Windows 7 or 8 VST host sequencer 32- or 64-bit Mac: 2 GHz Intel CPU Mac OS X 10.8 or later VST or AU host sequencer 32- or 64-bit

  18. for people wondering how to Warp in Ableton. This is a way i've figured out how to do it by talking to people and watching how others do it. hopefully this is the easiest, less daunting way
  19. http://www.eareckon.com/en/products/freebies.html This series is based on the ANALOG87 series which features a set of 6 high quality analog-style VST and AU effects for Windows and Mac OSX. Instead of just providing a limited demo of the ANALOG87 series, eaReckon would like to offer fully working free plugins using the same engine. These plugins are not only easy to use, they sound good too. Even though some of the controls of the ANALOG 87 versions have been stripped out, you will find they will have a useful place in your virtual rack.
  20. Boz Digital Labs - Bark Of Dog (Freeware) (Win-Mac) Bark of Dog is a bass resonance filter that lets you increase your low end without turning up the flab. I like to think of it as a way to boost the low end while still keeping it under control. While the controls are super simple, the effect that this has on controlling the low end in a mix is pretty exciting. http://www43.zippyshare.com/v/6MiyPKmN/file.html
