Decent Blogs & Bootlegs Thread (For the love of god please)

Same feels. I haven't seen a lot of decent blogs either. I know one that some of my mates go to but not sure how to spell it. I shall investigate -
It's the pub gigs when I whip my phone out. Clubs are completely different
-
i use the shure's too. pretty decent pin
-
awesome. i use to hit up the rosey back in the day when my mate was doing dubstep on sundays out the back. haven't been down there for years now

i hate weddings. i've stopped playing them but here's what i use to do, but not limited to dress appropriately. if it's a typical black tie kinda wedding then rock up in a suit and take the jacket off afterwards once you get on down a boogie. ultimately, you need to be comfortable so scrub up as well as you can. this being a casual wedding, everything but shorts, thongs and singlets should be good lol seems like you got the music sorted but there will be requests, pretty much from the get go. you can play them in your own time, especially if you're properly mixing tempos and 1 track is beyond from another. they will probably get shitty if you don't play the request straight away so be nice as suggested before (which again you're already done), meet up with the lucky couple and suss out what they want, whether they want any specific requests and if they want you to be an MC. you need pretty much everything so get onto a massive hunt and grab everything you spot most time's food will be given to you as it's pretty much standard. if they don't then charge them more lol don't leave your post to get food. i'm sure there will be someone walking around with a platter so wait til they come around to you. some people think that because they're paying you for a service they won't feed you or give you drinks (true story) so make sure you charge a healthy amount to do it. you gotta source the tunes, hire equipment (or cover costs of purchases), play, pack up and, of course, drive back and fourth. the obvious part... if you can keep them happy with the typical party tunes you're gonna be a winner. all these girls wanna do is dance (coz it's mostly women who hit up the d-floor) so you'll probably have to keep it cheesy. just coz she likes electronic music doesn't always mean you can get away with bangers. once you get started it's pretty easy going and you'll figure it all out quite quickly. have fun

i spent the better half of wednesday night on the phone lol it probably looks unprofessional but yolo
-
I thought they stopped putting on hip hop gigs at the rosey from a past experience.... good to see it happening anyway
-
I can't say I know what your on about. I use it inside ableton and it works fine. I'm probably being a sook lol I think it works alright in logic but I don't think I could drag samples from my channels into kontakt. I might give it a better go
-
Ah didn't notice TAL had one. I'll have a squizz. I played around with kontakt today and it wasn't bad but I find it a bit annoying in the sense it works better if you prepare it outside your daw before you use it. Just how I feel about it lol

shanks guise

the comp has closed and i managed to chart at #52. so close to that top 50 spot but my best effort to date so pretty happy about that. now the judging starts so fingers crossed mine can raise a few eyebrows thanks for voting guise
-
I'm on the hunt for a new sampler. I'm a bit over using EXS24 in Logic and some of the free one's i've stumbled across are pretty average. anyone have any suggestions?
-
These guys asking you to join a million things is a joke. Marketing has changed a lot in the last year
-
i'm doing one more cheeky plug for this. the comp is ending pretty soon and my remix trended as high as #54 after starting at 220+. it would mean so much to me to get this into the top 50. it's currently dropped to #59 so i need a surge of votes to get this that little bit higher. the comp description says votes don't really matter but just for a personal achievement i'd like to try get that top 50 spot. it'll be my most successful tune if i can achieve that! heart you guys xx

I know one of the guys that works at store dj from when he was living in perth. i could hit him up if i need to but that job will be filled way before i get there. thanks mate, i look forward to my arrival
-
post it. mines only 20mins

lol suck away. as long as it's not me doing the sucking well obviously the whole bounce is the main attraction but i'm pretty much looking for anything to just to get a start. i can get my trap on and any other style that falls under the whole bass music thing. I know the scene in melbourne is basically non-existent (few guys from Perth went over and tried but failed) but if there's anything around for that i'll jump on that too
-
Long story short, I spoke to my mate the other night and she's happy to have me move in. I'll probably be coming over in November if it's possible (financially). To get started I'm putting a call out to see if anyone can get me a gig or 2 so i can start making some kind of money to at least pay rent. i wanna try get some work before I go so once i get there i can start networking. Looking forward to being a Melbournian for a while

thanks buddy <3

Sorry mate. These voting things suck with what they make you do now
