so maybe you stop looking at the crowd or get like a deadmau5 costume so you really can't see beyond the decks? Or crank the volume up until you can't hear the crowd (either because of the volume or you've blown all there ear drums and they've passed out)? haha. nah i reckon you'd wanna see the crowd. for the first while you'd be nervous but when you know you're getting the energy goin there isnt any other feeling better then that. you become more confident and your mixes go crazy!

this aint for everyone but i have different cases for different styles so its easier to track everything. sometimes people bounce between genres and this can suck because you're carrying a few cases with ya. but if you're mixing the one style its more controllable because you know exactly whats what

+1 ive done some twisted shit at home but never been able to pull it off outside. i've only done it once. i was mixing dnb for the last 30mins back at a high school gig and was practicing this fade out echo kinda thing at home but could never get it right. got to the end of the set at this gig and thort stuff it, ill give it a go. strangely enough, i nailed it! could never do it again tho

with cd's i have the ep title and the artist(s) of the ep. these have from 1 - 4+ tracks on it depending on the ep. this comes down to the rule, "know your tunes". i believe if you know your stuff you're set! also, if you've prepared a set and your using vinyl, mark (with one of those poker dot stickers) the LP's you plan to use so if you get lost into your set and dont know which tune come next. being your first set, might be alright to write down your set list on paper and hide it in your cd wallet for reference. i did that once. played out and had one of those moments where i went blank and didnt know what i was doing. you also want backup tracks. so if your set is an hour long then organise for an hour fifteen or an hour an a half good luck bro

ive played at clubs and recorded mixes. just wondering how is it different and which will it be more like. coz at clubs i play on one red on the mixer and recordeing i go 2 yellow on djm800 i play on 1 solid red or at the end of the green, flashing red for recording (master is about half way to maybe 2 green until red) and out live (depending on the system) the master is on red or flashing 2 red. hope that helps lol

Get them Great decks +1 i dont own them myself but had a demo and bit of a play and there insane! where do you stand on vinyl? might be an investment to grab 2. 1200's or ST150's. theres always that tune you'd wanna get on vinyl

always wanted to give VJing a shot. got the demo for Arkaos but it didnt really go anywhere

(im in perth) i did a few online sets and i saw it similar to recording a mix in your room. just go in with an open mind and play it cool and you'll be fine! if your mixing what you love (which im guessing is hard trance - which is sick btw lol) then it will all come together for ya. all the best dude

maybe this has been done before? if not, tell us how you came up with your dj name. mine came out of nowhere and was real weird. i was out one day and saw one of those lil spitfire bugs (them fury caterpillar things that spit acid stuff) and i thort from there that it would be a cool stage name lol

haha you freakishly sound like me hey lol hardstyle was my main genre for years but always jumped around n tried different things. your record collection must look like mine then too. kinda like a record shop with bits of everything? lol yeh man check out the mixes section or my mixcloud (link in my sig). put one in there. also found another set which ill throw up sometime soon. its a proper set, not a battle mix so it has a lil more variety with the tunes
