like the guys said above, if you wanna scratch then DEFS get turnies. as for needles... not a huge problem. i got thru a set of needles every 6 months and i work them HARD...

i own Fostex PCM MkII (or something like that). payed around 700 each for them bad boys but they pump hardcore lol

theres probably better out there for that price but otherwise id say they'd do the job. you been looking around much?

i use my mac for everything! made the switch to Mac from PC at around 15 and havnt turned back

what speakers do you have? if you have them running from an amp then your master on your mixer (depending what your mixer is also) will go into your amp and then you will come out of your amp into your laptop. your speakers are powered via separate channels on your amp so you will hear what your doing anyways

im not a huge fan of this virtual world we live in these days. i play vinyl but i also use cd players. i bought the cd players to play at mates parties n stuff but as vinyl started to disappear around the 4 to the floor scene ive had to buy most my stuff thru digital download stores. i got into dubstep and drum n bass and thats good because alot of vinyl is still coming out. yeh its a lil expensive to buy vinyl (~$20 compared to ~$3 from a digital store) but thats what ive chosen to do and IMO theres no better way to dj

im both but i use vinyl as much as i can over cd. my dubstep and drum n bass collection is all vinyl apart from the odd remix thats on various CD's

yeh.. i cant get it to sample at the moment. it holds it but i cant switch to an effect because it cuts out :/

Well I had the mixer goin into the kp3 but it just made noise a didn't really sample or effect anything. Followed the diagram in the book but might try google

Very boob question but how do I hook this up to my mixer? I have a numark 5000fx and can't seem to get it to work. Is it because my mixer already has effects?

Well just leave a mixes section and a production section. That way in production you can discribe what it is you're working on

maybe if its in the one thread (being music or whatever) we should have a system where if it's a mix you have [MIX - GENRE] - dj - mix name. same if its for a production [PRODUCTION / REMIX / WIP] either one for whatever it is. just a thought so for example [MIX - TECH TRANCE] Spitfire - Techy Mix 2010 [WIP] Monkeys - Bananas (Spitfire Remix)
