  1. it's a bit annoying to listen to coz the audio is a bit fucked but it's actually a cool thing to watch
  2. credit to @Scottie for this one
  3. in a male dominated industry, i'm gonna be on the hunt for more women that put in werk.. i know they're out there
  4. Here's a nifty bit of freeware to help analyse key signatures. it works pretty well. It's only failed on me with a few samples but success rate is pretty good - it's free lol http://www.ibrahimshaath.co.uk/keyfinder/
  5. Mixing in key is the only way to mix! As for the jew's here... I have a gift for you all in the Spitty's Random Finds thread
  6. this guy
  7. the toys though
  8. bit of a disappointing end but still cool to see other people's workflow
  9. I think having more female dj's / producers in this industry is a great thing and i've been supporting it where I can. I've also shared an opinion or 2 in regards to the lack of actual talent that's out there lol I'm not from sydney but I teach Djing and production with so happy to help.
  10. Some very cool techniques in here
  11. Welcome!
  12. I saw a video of this guy's DMC routine when I was in high school. I'll see if I can find it and pop it in. I thought it was the coolest thing ever
  13. I find some cool stuff when I browse the InterTube so thought I should start sharing what I see with you guys. I'll keep adding to this every time I find a video that's worthwhile sharing. They're mainly production videos which is why I though it would be cool to have just 1 thread which showcases heaps of different stuff. I do find a fair bit so I could update this thread a number of times a day, or never at all - keep your eyeballs on this space
  14. hey mate nowhere near byford but up for a chat. PM me
  15. welcome mate. hope you find that motivation!
  16. If you got an hour to spare, have a watch of this. Some cool tips for Live users too.
  17. The ambient textures are nice and the bird sounds are a real nice touch. the drums are sitting in the mix nice too. as far as the second drop goes (or second part after lets go) i'm not really a techno dude so i don't know if the change was really necessary but it still sounds good and seems to work in this track. same goes for the 3rd part but that's just my opinion. in saying that though, it all sounds like it's supposed to fit so well done there. nice track overall man. keep at it
  18. I think @Mitch will be fairly helpful here. I'll have a listen when I'm at my monitors next. Won't be able to hear much on my laptop
  19. Here's a little promo mix I went gone and did. Share the festivities if you think it bangs... #Bang0rzAintDead https://soundcloud.com/whoislabrat/lab-rat-can-still-mix-promo-mix
  20. Best sound proofing I got Not gonna get far djing haha I've been meaning to have a semi decent studio for a while and finally got to it. It does the trick for now. Being able to use my fostex again is fantastic. Bit bigger compared to the truths but so much better sounding. The phone has to get upgraded too. Kinda forced to these days haha
  21. Thanks buddy
  22. i haven't seen denon gear at a jb hifi but worthwhile heading in for the pioneer stuff anyway. not sure if they're going to be hugely helpful in there though
  23. Not knowing anyone is gonna be a bit tricky so on to part 2, have you got money? If you have some money to spare you can hire a venue for a night. I would suggest getting out there and meeting people. I know a lot of people say that but it's pretty much the 1 thing that matters the most, building good relationships. I met a guy one night when I was running my own night. We had a chat and a few weeks later we had a tune signed and it did ok. He expanded his network base and started playing in venues while he was here so it's a big help
  24. haha gotta start somewhere
  25. just get some random vocals and chop them up
