i've given up on the whole "18th/21st" thing. everyone keeps saying the same shit. i dont mind a few requests at these things but when everyone says "play something we can dance to" and "i dont think you should be playing this"... i say, if you can do a better job then me then fucking do it! recently, i was playing some chilled / bassey dubstep before people started to rock up - just chilled beats as people started to come in so they could meet their mates and have a drink etc... a few people rocked up (not the whole guest list) and one chick comes up to me and asks what i was playing. i said "dubstep" and she goes "well, i think its shit and you shudnt be playing it. you should be playing something we can dance too. something with a beat" cut a long story short, i hate being told how to do my job, especially how to mix a few tunes together by a bunch of drunk, clueless dipshits. just to add to this thread, i have a question... has anyone tried to leave from a gig but forced to stay and keep playing beyond your time? i had that last week :S

yeh checked out all them places and no one has any decent ones. dont really want glowtronics coz i heard the glow in the dark paint / ink stuff can scratch your records. probably go for sickmats or something. wont be for scratching hearts: havnt checked kosmic but i doubt they'll have anything. let me know tho. i might be heading up myself later on tomorrow to help a mate out with his set up but duno yet

all my music gets stored onto iTunes but my Beatport and Traxsource tunes get put in a folder under their album / ep / release titles. all nice and neat

a little update on mine. i had a custom shelf made up so i could fit my turntables on my bench with the cdj800's. heres the end result. there isnt any serato or traktor set up, the laptop is just there so i can record mixes dark

oh sweet. i got about 200gig left on my MBP with 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo and 4GB ram. would that be fine to run logic with komplete 7 from NI?
