  3. no worries, no pressure! thanks for your help
  4. that would be awesome man, thanks heaps
  5. yeah thats pretty much the only way i can do it that works atm, im still working on using the pitch control to match them up, gonna take heaps of practice!
  6. haha yeah thanks man, that is a good tip just wondering bout any different techniques people might use rather than just matching it in too. For example spin backs and stuff like that
  7. Hey guys, ive only been practicing for about a week now, but one of the hardest things im finding is the transition between tracks. i know this is the hardest thing in DJ-ing, but i find it alot easier to mix dance. im just not familiar with many mixing techniques in Hip Hop music. im sure there's others here that would be interested too! Any tips, techniques or comments?
  8. awesome, thanks man. Whats the P&G like? obviously better than the M.201? would you be interested in selling it? thanks for your help!
  9. Hey gurus, ive just started, (and this place has been awsome in helping me learn, props to everyone here). so i got my fist mixer, a Stanton M.201. its a nice little mixer, the faders are pretty sensitive and sharp, although it is only an entry level mixer and i am only a few weeks in to learning! anyways, below is a pic of the crossfader it has. its fairly sharp so its pretty nice for scratching, but teh shape and the rubbery material its made of make it kinda hard to do things like crab scratches and stuff. is it possible to change it to a different one, and is there any recommendations on a new one? it has two screws either side so im assuming that means you can take it out but i got no idea and i definitly dont know how i would go about changing it! any help or tips would be awesome, Thanks, Alex
  10. maaaaaaaaan i want one! not sure what everyone's feelings are about Joel Zimmerman (Deadmau5), but this is one of his main pieces of equip. uses it live too. i love the pads for cue points and samples
  11. i wouldnt mind one of these, or would it be worth more and better value to upgrade straight to the next on eup in the DJM Range, i htink its the DJM 700?
  12. thanks for the reply guys... im not really a fan of Aussie hip hop, im not sure why, just most of it doesnt sound too good to me i guess, theres not much variation in flow and the beats arent as insane (you cant go past DJ Premier!!!) i like heaps of new hip hop tho, im getting my hands on it daily, jay z's newest was off the hook, and im definitely feeling kid cudi. at teh moment im hooked on Jemini and Dangermouse's collab "ghetto pop life" check that one out if you havnt! So yeah hip hop is definitely my thing, but i LOVE all music, House and Club are probably my 2nd point of call tho.
  13. hey guys, I just bought my first gear (2x stanton t60 turntables and a stanton M212 mixer) so im still learnign all the basics and that sort of thing. im into Hip Hop and Club music and cant wait ot get my hands on some Hip Hop vinyls! Hopefully some of the people here can help answer some questions! Alex
