  1. Haven't played much with the vinyl setting yet, can't scratch so it's easier for me to have turned off. But i do use it to find that first beat sometimes when auto cue doesn't pick it up right.
  2. Haha, yup I'm completely stumped with the choosing part. But it's just great to hear all the ideas and creativity of other people amongst your own Really great mixing guys! Updated my post on page one with link to it.

    Yo Lanky Sup!
  5. Don't forget to +rep for the kickass idea!
  6. At the moment i've just got folders set up for genres. I'm eventually going to sort them via mood's (Busy, warm up, chill, etc) But i think that's going to be more in my RekordBox with comments/colour, rather than folders/playlists. But definitely something that needs a lot of attention!
  7. AusDJForums Ten Track Challenge July 2010 by BeatLeSS Check it out!
  8. Dunno what your on about Cupe, it's legit Welcome!
  9. just do it, got sidetracked with my birthday, sorry fellas! post up the electro it's a good start!
  10. Haha righto, well might hit the top 10 in the charts tonight
  11. The whole idea behind it is to restrict as many variables as possible. Hence why having the same ten tracks is going to make it so much more interesting as it's limiting what you've got to work with. It's then up to you how to mix these ten tracks. Although it's gonna suck listening to the same ten tracks a number of times, the order, transitions, and the individuals unique flavour is going to make it oh so worth it in my opinion.
  12. Haha forgot that i changed my background this morning when shutting down my laptop, caught my eye by surprised and i was once again impressed! Lol.

Welcome mate Chances are a lot of questions you will have will be on here answered already, but don't be afraid to fire away! Welcome to the world of DJ'ing though, what was it that's prompted you to get into it?
  14. Still homo that you need a soundcard for SL though. Thought the CDJ900/2000's had soundcards in them, musta missread that part. Can't wait to check out the new update though.
  15. In all reality, the only thing i find missing over the 2000's is hot cue's, which does stump some creativity. But doing a bit of homework on your tracks and pre-cue-pointing, with a roll could definitely do it. I like the idea of the one decimal place, didn't know the DJM800 can set that manually as well to keep it in check, this is something i'll definitely play around with a lot more.
  16. At work at the moment, will apply the firmware update when i get home and let you know, what else does it change ?
  17. Okay, so I've been chatting to a bunch of guys around here and we've created a ten track challenge between ourselves so i wanted to share it here and get a bit of substance happening. Not sure if this is the right section but heres what i'm thinking; The Music --> Grab the top ten of one particular genre, or a 10 track chart from an artist on beatport - everyone gets the same one. The Timeframe --> Weekly/fortnightly/monthly (Open to suggestions) The Result --> When we're using the same music it'll be so interesting to see who does what. I think it'd be an excellent idea, we can change genres/charts everytime we do it which means we'll start getting exposed to different music etc and I rekn a really great way to get feedback etc. Obviously just floating an idea around. Discuss;
  18. I think he's talking so that the other person's audio will come through your mixer aswell, doing like a Back2Back type of set?
  19. lol! Good thing you bumped it, now i've got a new background
  20. I'd buy it and split the profit with whoever managed to re-sell it all. Anyone keen?
  21. Welcome!

    ayy

    Welcome!
  23. Do you have any rule of thumbs that you follow for this? I.E; Do you start you're transition from a certain point (Have a cue point for that starting spot/enough time to get to where you start the other track)? Or has that part for you become part and parcel of setting up those cue/loop points?
  24. This is what I'm talking about. What I do is exactly that, but the as I also said, theres one, commonly two, or more mistakes I make which completely ruin the full recording. How do you find you overcome that?
