very good advice! i guess add checking no effects are in play too. This. I used to get too excitd and try and do epic mixes to quick and I'd fuck it up cause of silly things like this. Take 5, check your shit and then mix. So true. I've been lost in it so many times you need to have this kind of mental checklist.. Once at a Stereosonic DJ comp I hit the eject button on the wrong cdj.. Thank fuck the eject lock was on.

I do for a lot of my music. The underground scene pretty much thrives on it. But, with a platform like soundcloud already bringing in so many hits, it makes sense to offer something similar.

A lot of the higher end mixers have separate high/low pass filters.. In Pioneers it is one of the "Colour FX". In DJ programs it's called filter. In production it could be known as a technique of EQ Sweeping.

It seems to be the next step of progression in terms of content delivery. IMO they'd be silly not to do something like this, having such an established user base already.

Yeah the Kp3 would definitely do that, I used to use it for the same thing but then did way to much with it, as a simple looper it'll have 4 banks and you can then layer things on top.. Could be good for opening up your creativeness. Have you seen the RC-505? I know Dub FX uses a looper set up and I'm pretty sure he operates outside of normal bpm constraints, i.e it doesn't detect/use bpm to create bars you manually loop in/out. I just did a google and found him doing an introduction to a new piece of kit, I don't think it's what he uses though.. DubFX playing live

What you mean those companies that everyone whinges about ripping off the artists and working them to the bone for a pittance?

They need to become the next bandcamp where they can offer underground/unsigned/non-huge artists the ability to sell their music to fans that are listening to it on the spot and take a small percentage platform fee. I reckon something like artists name their price, then a set percentage gets shaved off that price for soundcloud to provide the platform. They've already got the people using it, integrating something like this should be simple. This would also be a great step in the future of the music industry. Next we need to abolish this crappy copywright/sampling laws - we'll never progress with the way it is.
