  1. Thanks for the compliment sol but im not a turntablist. I do however use turn tables. Hey fpearson. What state you from? I think the holmies above have digital vinyl systems (dvs) i.e. Using timecode, pretty much covered. One thing to note, while in the long run it makes buying music cheaper, keep in mind it assumes you have a laptop/ computer to use. Which isnt always the case. Because for the cost of a laptop and a dvs you can buy a shyte load of second hand records. Anyways in regard to your other q's, while any turntable and mixer will work there are some tips. As you mention definitely go direct drive. If you intend to do a wigga wigga, then torque is arguably important (the force the platter will spin at getting back to full speed). However since technics 1200 dont have the best torque yet was for many years the favoured TT, this requirement is arguable. But definitely aim for something that at least has the torque of 1200's, though a lot of people use less cupe has the t80's and he goes aiight. In terms of which tables. Obviously the 1200's; and then there are the superOEM who all modelled after the 1200. Search the forum for that term to get a list. Then there are cheaper models like the stanton t90/80 and numark ones. All of which will still do the job. Also with the wigga wigga, its nice to have a good cross fader. Again you can get away without it, its just a nice to have.
  2. yo welcome @dflux - was that filo? haha nice. i think you missed a "u" in kamusta though
  3. * haha and not sol dios, but maybe you may want to ask for royalties sol! anyways, as a lot of you may have heard beats by dre will no longer be aligned with monster cable. while reading about this i heard that the son of the dude at monster cable decided to launch his own headphone collection, using the same media mentality they used for Beats but at a much less price. and early reports are they are as good sound quality (of course this is debatable!) as the beats. the brand is sol republic, and they got a few famous people to get the name out there called the saviors of sound (similar to the beats marketing process) hate it or love it, it could be the next thing for haters to hate http://www.solrepublic.com/saviors-of-sound

  19. in terms of sample record all you need is Super Seal. Failing that get Super Seal II. I believe there is also a Best of Super Seal out, but i still think go for the OG. brb in regards to the hippity hoppity
  20. cupe now you using tsp you can record via the audio 8. (and from memory you already put the booth/ record out from your mixer into 5/6). all you need now is to specify the recording preferences, i.e. let it know 5/6 is what to record and specify how big you want the files to be before it auto splits it. id suggest picking the biggest (i think 2GB) as it records in wav. then you just hit record on the top right, check your levels arent hitting red. i need to turn gain on the software record about to 1 else it comes out too soft.
  21. wu-tang clan - Campfire from the 8 Diagrams LP a few years ago Method man, Ghostface Killah & Cappadonah providing the lyrics. RZA with his usual Kung Fu movie and dirty sample beat. Curtis mayfield on the sample. standard wu mafioso story telling, with kung fu theology interludes.

  23. here is trainspotter. it was created by one of the geniuses on NI forum (or djtt cant remember, but i am sure he is on both). it allows you to create smart playlists (and ones that actually work not like you damn apple!!) it also allows you to use the comments section to create your own classifications, which can then show up as acolumn in traktor AND is searchable. as usual i got all excited and then apathy set in, and i use it simply to genrify my tracks and create playlists. i think there is also an option for getting the key of tracks if you donate 5 euros http://www.tspotter.net/
  24. wow a title in romaji? anyways i create bins of genre-ish, and then within the genre i sort by bpm. then in tsp you can load the bins you want along the top of the organiser. else access on the side thru the explorer. in terms of genre i give it a ruff name and shove whatever goes together. so it might be called disco, but there could be some funk house in there. or ill give it a name like "for drunk grrls". also i use trainspotter to organise it, and it will update your traktor playlist (the nml file i think). ill link it up in a tick
