nah using your hifi system is plenty unless you going to play out or have your kit in a massive room (well depending on your hifi. im sure my technics hi fi could crank a decent size room)

yeah i use to pop into record store and spank plenty when i first got my kit. but having tsp kinda turned me off buying brand new 12 inches. so i just dig for gems at record fairs. not sure what the scene is like in perth, but ive gone alright in syd and melb.

record store does, you just have to dig hard on their random ass lists. plus if you go in there (i know its difficult for you). these guys usually have a fair bit of second hand which never gets catalogued, as they get djs selling their collections. but yeah none of the above have anything like juno (which im pretty sure postage aint too bad. just dont compare postage to aus to postage to your homeland russ!) EDIT: 10"/12"/LP: £3.60 for first record, then £2.00 per record. so about $5.50 for first and $3 per rekkid spank records probably had the best collection albeit very expensive but they died last year.

hey mate i know you got it, but i wanted to do some visual examples but its shyte posting youtubes from the phone. anyways not edm but still electronic sample based music that shows pretty much what people are saying. here is a lady gaga track, poker face (acoustsic version) kanye sampled this to make the beats for kid cudi - make her say. being a whole new song cudi is the artist cubic zirconia covered the track. i.e no sampling of gaga or cudi, but actually covering the track. i love this version btw, and love cubic zirconia sammy bananas of telephoned did an official remix. so the track is still listed as kid cudi - make her say (sammy bananas remix). and he had the stems to do the mix. awesome remix at that i tried to find a bootleg but could only find mash ups and they were all pretty shyte. but i guess everyone knows what they are

No a remix can be bootlegged or by obtaining stems. A cover means they recreated it. Maybe from the same sample maybe playing it out on synths rather than sampling. Dr dre does that a lot and it got labeled interpolating to differentiate it from sampling. So i am saying that second one, it is their own vocalist not the one from snap, and they likely played the track out Edit: oh mitch on first.... Again. Haha thats why hes the king

Snap sampled another tune. So some tracks you hear that sound like it just sampled the same track. Also some people have covered the snap track, hence why they are the artist and not a remixer. While all the rest are remixes.
