does that really make a diff? i dont think ive seen anymore than a handful of dj's without a computer in almost 3 years. whether it is at gigs, bars or clubs ive been to. and even more so looking at all the names at fests or events. i dont think having a computer makes any difference to the crowds enjoyment.

hip hop dx and oz hip hop for hip hop news a lot of record label or artist blogs (mad decent, a-trak, fools gold, slow roast, craze, z-trip, kentaro, good music, ofwgkta, cudlife, billionaire boys club etc.) and then if im looking for music my method is as ive stated many a time, i usually start with a song then look at other songs that artist has done. other songs that artist has remixed or guested on. other artists on that artists record label. and just keep following the trail until it runs dead. and start again. and for any track i buy, i add that artist, the remixer and the label to my follow list. which then gives me a lot of "starting" songs. so when i go shopping i probably digg thru 100 tracks or so just to buy maybe 20.

jack johnson - what you thought you need [live version] this was from his live cd w dvd from a couple years back. i first came across jack johnson about ten years ago when my roomie passed me a cd to pop in while we drove around roof off, most likely to the beach or sunday dranks (pretty sure it was his second one on and on) loved it straight away and it stayed on rotation for a bit. it had little ditties, his normal folk surf rock, some more upbeat blues beat tracks, and even had a rapper on a track. i found out all about him being a surfer, movie producer heaps later. this track is one of his typical folk rock.

? i have an MPC which is not a controller. its sampler/ sequencer (i.e it is not controlling any software and doesnt need a computer to run). my particular model has limited MIDI ability, i think the newer ones have full midi. anyways i dont mind em. as i said i go to a bar where the holmie comes in every night with NS6 under arm and then about 2 or 3 of them swap lappies during the night. you do realise most high end controllers are pretty much the same as a cd player, i.e. the manipulation and playing of a digital music file. your not actually controlling the cd not even touching the sync arguement
