despite missing last months i really did enjoy mixing last sunday. im thinking making every sunday my mix day, or maybe mpcday. so whoever thought of this idea. nice one sojn. definitely getting on this

kodiak's post in the brizzy fred reminded me about this. looks like it was a good gig

i hopped onto cdj's without any knowledge and it took a minute but eventually i got mixing on them. obviously using the pitch is the same. the thing i could never figure out was how to change the cue point so i had to live with whatever it was cued at which was sometimes way wrong and a lot of time i resorted to using the turnie thing like turntable platters to find my cue and i didnt get all that good at the whole nudging thing. so i do suggest get someone to have a rundown with you how to set cues, how to load tracks (as i think they may be all different), and then from there its the same old same old.

got the door closed as got a lot of shiz to sort out at work today. EDIT but have time to post on ADJF so some serious head bopping going on when this track just dropped

yeh im spewing a bit. i was overseas for first two weeks of month, and then last min had to fly to KL this weekend (still there). so last shot will be this weekend. i wont have any chance to get a playlist ready and do a two hour fuck around. may just have to hit record after an hour or so warm up, and rely on beatport genryfying. but i will endeavour to do this!

i guess i listen to music more than i dj, so yeh i like variety. sometimes i hear a song and go this track is the shiz!! and its like something from three years ago that i totally forgot about. i think once i tried to plan a mix, it was my first attempt at recording a hip hop mix. but i can just never ensure ill be able to beat match on time. and it used to get me frustrated. so i prefer a fluid style of mixing. then again even fluid i cant always beat match it properly haha

me too in the most part i try never to hear a song more than say 20 times in ayear (def never more than 50). so i dont know many songs back to front. so my mixing process is usually chuck in a folder heaps of tracks that have that feel im going for muck around mixing for two hours wittling the number of songs down. then either that night ilor th next day hit record

givint it a whirl now waiting for plane liking it. i need to have a go. i think ive got a good enuff stash to put something together. oh man if only i had a copy for the plane!

nek minit i dont return from next meat achally quite cheap. the most expensive were big daddy kane, PE and a tribe called quest which were 13-20 bucks all the rest were 3-8 bucks with most being 5.50.

i put my overpriced record bag to good use yest as i did my rounds around the shibuya record shops. i bought a few things at my regular spot manhattan records, but actually smashed the most around the corner at face records. bought a ton of chicago house (cant wait for the monthly genre house mix!) and stack of jamaican 45s (they had hundreds at about 3 bucks each. i couldve been there for days). george clintons computer games i was prob really happy about as have been looking for that (at a cheap price)

just bought a too expensive not really necessary dj bag what started off as wanting something more substantial than my man bag, to something that may as well fit records in case im buying, turned into a full on record bag. there was a tad buyers regret when i realised why do i need to carry so many records. but it looked good. oh well hopefully can fit my mpc
