dope track! Featuring chali 2na of jurassic 5 new album pretty cool. Wont say all gold but no shit tracks and this is one of the better ones. Hope it gets crossover appeal off tha back off the first singlr used all over telly

yeah it was a little creepy, but only a little different then some of those frank sinatra duets or that grrl that did unforgettable with her dad. And they projected the person on a screen behind. well a little different in the sense of creepily different. what i didnt like is the manipulation in saying things like "whats up coachella". if they had just spliced and then interpolated the image from his old concerts to make it look like all one movement thats cool. but they should have just left his voice to just his voice. it was kinda like when eminem spliced tupac's voice to say shit like "shady records" or "what up obie"; when em produced that last tupac album. thats what got daz dillinger pissed off, because he produced a lot of the OG tracks and while he didnt mind afeni getting em to change the beats, it was kind of an insult to make pac say shit he never said.

Record Store Day this sat April 21 (&Glebe Fair)
eggssell replied to eggssell's topic in DJ Headquarters
crunds record fair till four. No idea what time the record store cut collective is on but i remember reading last year they just jammed and drank all day into the night. ill prob just hit fair, but never know -
good read yes to a point, but no in terms of you can eq in the mix through the monitor. me personally i may drop some bass (or drop some highs if you going in with bass); and ensure gain levels are right. but other than that all eqing is done with the non headphone ear.

its in my mind because your mates telstra put kb and mb on their bills. and i couldnt work out how the staff were popping their caps. they then told me sorry their reports are in bytes, and i said then why would you put the symbol for bits!! of course which the phone person mentions well they dont have any control of that!!!!
-
gandy change the mb to MB, as you are right it's bytes (i.e. 8 bits to 1 byte)
-
about 128 kilo bits every second..... and im not being a whale

hey all that time of year again! plenty going on at your locals. and there are usually one off exclusives available at various palces online (i know atmosphere were going to cut 45's). make sure to check it. here is a totally incomplete list of stores involved: http://www.recordstoreday.com.au/index. ... &Itemid=59 one of the missing stores is sydney's own record store, who last year had a big scratch session which i believe will be happening again along with a hermitude signing http://www.therecordstore.com.au/ and its also the glebe record fair for the syd peeps. nothing like digging thru hundreds of boxes to start the weekend! i will be in attendence mos def! http://www.eggrecordsonline.com/index.p ... roductId=1

i dont have a ddjt-1 but i would be very surprised if you couldnt just straight record, as i assume essentially you are mixing internally. when using a NI audio card, you need to route an out from your mixer into the card, and then setup in traktor to accept the input. however if you are mixing internally i think you can just hit record?? anyways wait for someone who has one since there are about a million people now...

I just have no idea where to start and what options to select. i think mitch pretty has probably got it covered, im not all clued up either. last time i made an application for an abn for a company was when they introduced abn's over 12 years ago! i think things may have changed.

i dont see why you wouldnt anyways. that way you can depreciate your equip; and buy music GST free; all against the revenue you make (and hence tax free).

him? odd future is more than tyler mate. while i respect and understand your tastes. dont get caught up in the hate just for the hype! for me personally i am totally impressed with what they have done. like tyler said in his last verse he was a fifteen yr old kid when he started this. the magazine, making music, the youtubes. now they have their own label, their own tv show, sell out shows, sell overpriced merch at pop up shops, and have a skate team moving from am to pro. and they mostly around twenty. some of these cats like frankie ocean, the internet and hodgy beats are some of the best artists right now for me. hodgy is slowly inching to on my top ten dead or alive list (his last unnamed ep is off the hook). and in regards to HIM. while his rap style and lyrics arent for everyones taste; he is actually very talented. he produces a lot of the beats and they range from minimal hip hop to experimental electronica; and everything inbetween. he also produces (and shoots) their film clips. but hey i feel ya, it aint for everyone. but hate cuz you dont like the music. dont hate because people like it or hype exists.

Its still friday in perth!!! The jet age of tomorrow - 5th echelon A part of the odd future collective, consisting of matt martians (frm the internet) and hal williams. This crew has some very forward thinking music on their EP. This track, a very simple sample laden track is very much the mood of the album (which i love)

This is what's also wrong with the music industry....

but if they sang it that doesnt make them fake does it? unless of course they claimed to have written it. that would be like saying michael jackson was fake. he only started writing lyrics very late on, before that he was nothing more than a singer. and even with lyrics i am sure it was the rarity rather than the norm. same with frank sinatra. (hehe pasted straight from one of my older posts). EDIT: but on the other hand the monkeys were one of the first label created bands i believe, i.e. with complete back stories and so on -

its just the new version of payola. in regards to bieber and one direction, i think they are a diff beast of commercialisation though. bieber got his following from youtube from my understanding. so hence was already famous by the time the record label cashed in. same with one direction (who i had never heard of until i read it in the news this week. when i read boy band i thought they were some reject group from the 90s boy band era who wasnt so famous, and i was wondering what all the frenzy was about). anyways, the paper said they were xfactor contestants? so i assume they too developed a fan base before the record labels ate them up. hence they could sell records on their own accord without any record label push. i know they hated on because people dont like their type of music, but they are not the only ones to do this. Odd future were hella famous from youtube and hence were able to tell most labels to fark off and instead carve out their own distribution deal. but in essence were no diff than bieber except for choosing not to sign. unlike say spice girls or sophie monks group, who were manufactured by a label and then promoted, which i guess is what you getting at. -
nice dflux i got the iq2 as well How smooth are the faders. Especially the cross fader(nit that i really use it). Smoothest ive ever felt and no need for an innofader
-
hey andyman when you mix do you pretend your like the third punk Nice kit
-
hold on if its a booty and no one has asked for releases, im assuming beatport would have to take it down anyways. let alone the fact it wasn't theirs. (damn thief will probably claim, listen closely i added a bass drum every eight beat hence it is a mashup...)

hey tommo. most def the sarah main ones in the sticky are really good. ellaskins too but you need to go for the really earlier ones when he goes thru the theory of beatmatching. andy and mitch got good nuggets of info in their posts above. another thang with songs, start with ones all the same bpm. i know you may say but that dont help with beatmatching? but what it does help you practice is releasing (or pressing play) at the right time, and helps you practice dropping at the right beat and in phrase. then you can focus on the other parts of the transition like eqing in/ out
