Do you think the price of 1200's will go up over the years?
eggssell replied to ruggs's topic in Turntables & Stylus
Oh legunner was replying to this (was wondering about the zombieing). But even there you got one for 550 last year. In 2009 when i was looking, cheapest i found was 600 unloaded. Basically going rate for a useable one (possibky no dust cover) was around 750. And i searched every two days for six or seven months. Got snipered heaps too. Whales! So market hasnt really moved in 3 years, in fact could be even cheaper -

again i still thinks it depends on how it is. If you take one currently being used as a cd stand at the club, i kind of doubt it will appreciate that much Kind of like you can find 69 mustangs in the paper for 7 grand or 70 grand -

i just read my comment. not saying you cant do a DJ set with controllers. but again playing a DJ set with a controller still isnt live to me. i.e. i dont get how you can call a particular DJ set live. they are either all live or they arent live.
-
doesnt make sense to do a DJ set with just controllers after playing out for however long (twelve years or something!). nah he must be playing his own productions, and or live remixing maybe using controllers. EDIT: or i guess as grem says a "live" set is any DJ that has visuals. sounds stupid though
-
sorry i kind of meant popular with people of korean heritage, of which many live here. (as i obviously have not been to korea but know many koreans or australians with korean heritage who told me). anyways, hope bloc party do side shows. missed them the last two times they were down. what does it mean by a-trak live? does that mean he is not djing and will instead perform his productions live?
-
you do realise PSY is more than just gangnam style? he has been in the music biz for over 10 years and is huge in korea. if you say to any korean do you listen to PSY they dont say oh the gangnam dude. EDIT: and even gangnam was meant to be comedic/ a parody

Yeah the origin of trap is essentially dirty south, that's why i hated the term trap originally. But there seems to be two types of trap, actual rap songs with known artists on them rick ross etc, and the stuff that is more similar to moombahton than actual rap. I'm really digging the moombah type stuff bangin either way the new stuff is still based on a hip hop sound, thats all i was trolling about. trying to find that danny brown one w flosstradamus and will post. in fact if you like this sound check danny browns album. not trap but still awesome. -
damn bro that sucks. not insured?

akai mpc2500 a sampler, sequencer. i guess the big brother of tomy's mpc1000. scored this off ebay for $960 about a year back, and it has the upgraded RAM. which was cheap then though i think they have gone down in value with the new rennaissance out. was mint as though, dude said he bought it and never got around to really learning to use it. MPC's have always had a place in hip hop production, but was also used in other genres that relied on sampling. 9th wonder (one of my fave hip hop producers) went from fruity loops to pro tools to MPC. i myself bought a 30 tutorial book, but only ever got to the 16th one. want to to pick it up again over summer with the intention of remixing only using the MPC (so sampling into the MPC from sources then cutting up, tempoing, effecting, sequencing, and mastering all on the MPC). but i have a lot of intentions........

random i was looking for this one of armani xxxchange from spank rock (one of my fave producers) from a couple years bCk and looks like there has been an even more recent visit to his studio all pretty good

i associate the ones i like w ghetto tech or booty breaks. so id have gone breaks. but you say tomato i say ketchup. but i see what you mean by hip hop seeing as this new iteration of Trap Music was borne from the sounds of the drrty south hip hop. wonder if all the hip hop heads are bitching about EDM producers stealing their style the same way EDM producers were bitching about hip hop artists making EDM -
