sticking on the kanye tip. i know everyone hates him for being a douchebag. and from what ive read he might be, but i learnt years ago to never listen to media. either way he is one of the greatest producers ever in the hip hop scene. jay z would be just some local cat if it wasnt for kanye beats. and while some of his verses can get annoying and or same same (with the word play), somehow they stick in your head. and he has some of the best lines ive ever heard! i like this one because he rhymes with so much emphasis. this was from the graduation album a few years back now. again produced by kanye. featuring john mayer (dont really know the cat other than being one of annistons exes but he a famous singer right?) kanye west ft john mayer - bittersweet poetry

aiight this was for yesterday. and so people dont think im only underground or indie (or too cool for school), here is some "pop"ular hip hop artists! this was from snoop's latest album "doggumentary", and featuring kanye and john legend. beats by kanye. nice mellow deep track. kanye beats are awesome as usual, and john legend providing his beautiful voice for a hook. as ive always said even artists that have crossed over will always have gems on their album that the record labels wont release. and since talking about more popular hip hop. i really hate the haters for it from those within the scene, that say shit like thats not gangsta enuff; or oh its all about the champagne and ladies. hip hop wasnt invented in the 90's!!!! (i.e. it did not start with gangsta or concious rap). check out all the old OG shit, it was either about the party OR whining about the grrl they want. snoop ft kanye west, john legend - eyez closed

thats cool love seeing how the hip hop scene evolved in each country

heaps serious. not sure if i meant first transition. but early on when you went from one track to the other it was quick yet simple outro to intro, where one track begins fading out. used a lot when mixing rock, funk, "live" music. ill reliaten and pin point. and yeh link for that busta mash would be good
-
hey mate. Gave it a listen, nice. was that a busta acapella? went well i still cant do the fade out transition you do at the beginning without train wrecking
-
i know i posted this in TOTD already, but just reheard this track yest (refer whinge fred where i tried to buy on release date but it wasnt avail in aus itunes!). anyways cant talk the future of hip hop without mentioning odd future. not saying i love everything that comes out the camp, but 80-90% of it mos definitely. all the cats have there own flows. and the beats production is so varied and on-point. whether its the minimal, the overlayered, the trippy, the thrashy. whether its being done by left brain, syd the kid, matt martians or ace (tylers producer credit). and at such a young age they have done plenty (a massive back catalog, clothing label, skate team, films, books, art exhibitions, world tours, and their very own sold out festival) anyway from mellowhypes latest album, numbers. i love this track! not sure who produced most likely left brain mellowhype - la bonita some how i feel this wont be the last odd future track we will see here

EDIT: oh he mentions the name les girls (now empire hotel) dont know the production credits. album was primarily done by hermitude and countbounce urthboy - knee length socks "ïn fred perry shirts these guys did not dance like i did.." lol

Thierry D - Deep Down under Ep - Out Now
eggssell replied to Thierry's topic in Drum'n'Bass & Jungle
nice one thierry. ill add to the next haul -
todays pick rapsody - kind of love from her debut album the idea of beautiful. production on this track and most of the album by her label head 9th wonder (one of my fave hip hop producers right now). track is typical of 9th sampled based beats. enjoy

just slightly off topic, but relating to this comment & traktor. i fully understand frustrations with traktor software's bugginess (but seriously no worse than apple's iphone ios' and itunes, in fact i even think apple is worse) but for anyone using it forget their customer service for troubleshooting. you are better off going on the NI forums. there are many user experts, who will get back to you quicker, and usually have more experience. failing that head on the DJTT forums (a lot of the same people live on both).

murs & fashawn - the otherside from their recent collabo album this generation. This is a great album, not because it has murs, but just because of its subject and style variety. beats by beatnick and k-salaam. this particular track has an old school r&b feel (and no not the usher timberlake rnb you might be thinking of)

okay this is going from mine and wrx's convo in the whinge fred. everyday im gonna post up a hip hop track im feeling (i might push the term hip hop, i.e. might just have a rap part or sample, might be just a break beat etc) mainly new but might rip out a classic. If i miss a day or two ill bomb it when i do get on to catch up. i guess allows those not in the scene to have a source other than kyle and jackie o and smash hits. and those in the scene to see what im into. also allows me to be totally selfish and post in a thread no one may ever look at enjoy. Ignore. Whatevers clever.

now this is a bit dodgy that someone posted this (buy the dvd if you like). But this was the show promoting his first album. awesome live show with a lot of visuals. Live rappers, live flute guy, some live drumming, and then the mpc and tuntable bit is amazing
-
here is one of his productions. Again using the pitch like an instrument. Starts off slow but then he justs rips it Edit:from memory this a traditional japanese song
-
here is some of his turntablist stuff. he is essentially using the EQ to change the sound Edit: and his needle drop skills in effect too. Wait for the drop at 2 min
-
japanese dj/ producer doing three events in aus. for those that dont know he is an ex dmc champ. big in the dub, reggae, dnb scene as a dj. has had two albums of his own productions which verge on hip hop, trance, dub, dubstep. spewing syd is in fest, if i can get good flights im going to melb to see him.
-
it has built in soundcard so made to go with the most basic of turntables and cdjs. so all you would need for cdj's (even the lowest type) is the mixer, a laptop; and then download and burn the timecode cds. and your ready to go. EDIT: mixer comes with timecode, even better
-
its a mixer?? you can use it with cdj's right?
