  1. i do! i have a national panasonic boom box at work (as seen below) people used to run their turntables thru these so it has RCA input. so i run my iphone thru it while i work. but i have taken it outdoors (with batteries) while in the park or as mates skated, and its loud as fark! and the sound is so good. nice good levels, not tingy or bassy just right, as opposed to some speakers that are sold these days. i do use the tape player to run japanese for busy people in the background sometimes

  14. so the track Beyond came on Monday while I was driving, and I swore I heard that sample before but couldn't pick it. anyways so it comes on again today and it was driving me nuts so I checked out whosampledwho and wiki, and no sample has been listed. then I notice on wiki it says Beyond resembles Warren G regulate. and what do you know, by damn it does. I guess will I am isn't the only one who learnt how to cut n paste RIP nate dogg
  15. where did i get donnie from...
  16. 2.5 years later and still cant mix hip hop; and instead of a disco track here and there my last mix was all disco
  17. i like it. i am a disco fan though. having been around pre and post daft punk, i still find it hard to understand what people were expecting. da funk, which for me (and australian television) was the first track that really blew up. and it was a great track during a time dance music was pretty massive. but i think everything post the first album has been commercial dance. not that there is anything wrong with that. i mean their second album was nothing but commerical dance and pop album. and i think maybe the issue (at least for some on this forum), people discovered daft punk during your pre-cubbing age; and without knowledge of buying music outside of itunes/ hmv/ etc. your comparison ability would have been less. but now that you have a greater pool of music to compare with you may be being critical. anyways my two cents. i bought it. and i like it.
  18. I don't think it was any real epiphany for me. im way old school though. most twelve inches always had a dance-ish mix, be it a pop or a hip hop track. I will always remember the shep pettibone mixes. hip-house scene was pretty bigg too by the late 80's when i was about 12. soul 2 soul, technotronic, snap, bomb the bass, blackbox were kind of the commercial breakthrough artists that come to mind. pet shop boys 12 inches were always awesome too. my domino dancing 12 inch is still one of my faves but yeh back then you didn't really care to know what the dj was playing, as long as it was good. in fact DJs were the tastemakers, you were not meant to know the most of what they were playing. that was their aim to always have new shit. at our house parties we'd always want to ask the dude playing what a particular track was. then go into town to find it at disco city. ahh the good ol days. by 91 dance music was everywhere. the charts, radio, tv commercials, on every story line of every tv show.
  19. oh okay now thinking i about it. I guess rather then hitting an unlabelled pad you can see visually the sample you are hitting. So i guess that is a step forward.
  20. so he is playing out samples by touch. Ummmm isnt that what various samplers and sequencers have been doing for years. i think it may be a step forward for Fruity Loops to move to things ableton live was doing for live performances. Dont think it is adding much to the future of music production in general. cool none the less for the fruity loopers
  21. Works for me, I tend to jump around from genre to genre when I mix, so it's fairly pointless for me to catalogue things by genre when I find it easier to find what I want alphabetically. Genres aren't even real maaaaaaaan ive got an easier way. "öh im done playing with my rekkids. lets pick them all up and shove them back on the shelf. ahhh time to drank.." my order is pretty much shove new records on the leftist end. mess them up as I play them. shove all the ones I just played on the leftest end. makes every session feel like im digging the crates
  22. haha all you cats going alphabetical.
  23. yeh says you are offline. wait maybe you dont exist does that mean i am talking to myself
