well a grand for 500 records is cheap as chupps. but i guess if i had a grand to blow, id rather have a carefully selected 50-100 records. nah mean on the other hand if it was like 50 alright records for $100 id be in like flynn

i think it was a farking great idea. and i really wish i had jumped on it. but my apathy is always the killer of all my ambitions.... i havent recorded a mix in over a year. i took my mpc out the other day when i was looking to buy a synth and realised i hadnt touched it since january this year. my diet is going to start every monday for the last twelve months. i still havent finished skate 3. anyways, yeh i only really listen to it when i am inbetween things on friday and saturday. so if it isnt particularly being used or bringing in people maybe its time to reinvest funds?? one idea could be regular mix releases on adjf soundcloud? like fortnightly. that way it can be promo'd, facebooked, tweeted, and generally whored out? good for the mixer and good for adjf? i know you already fave everything thru the adjf soundcloud but actually doing regular releases along with maybe a blog update and interview may get some sort of a following. i dont know just shooting off at the cuff

some of the OG MPC's the 2000, the 2000XL etc seem to have higher regards then the newer ones. so i think the 60 also falls into that bracket. but yeah tell that guy he's dreeeaaming. anyways i dont have anything to compare it with. and i have yet to do anything "musical" with it. i just got up to sampling; laying it out to pads; and eqing or effecting or layering; and very minor sequencing. all of it seemed reasonabley simple so far. albeits a hella lot to remember; and your hitting a lot of buttons and turning knobs. but then i watch youtube videos and it looks like eventually you just do it so instinctively. there is a whole chapter on compression and mastering with it too. wazza might be your man who seems to have used the whole gammit of things. hardware and software.

i guess prices have gone down on these. while synth prices seem to be going up an MPC2500 with travel case just went for about $665. i paid $900+ for mine only two years ago

yeh im pretty dflusta. $375 plus $9 postage if anyone looking at going prices on old equip i found a site. dont know how up to date, and they only have old stuff on it but its a nice ball park guide. but of course just doing a search of sold listings on ebay also gives you another guide http://www.prepal.com/ i dont have keys but im going to be sequencing in my mpc so im hoping the 16 onboard pads will be enuff. as ill only be using it to give me one track at a time it has two ocatves either side but obviously difficult to switch mid playing. EDIT: still have to test vocoder cant wait

bought this from ebay couple of days ago. an old synth. its only a virtual analog but hopefully can get some good sounds from it. arrived today so was testing at work . haha did the first part of this.
