who the fuck wrote this. why do people still believe US have only just discovered raves and dance music? fuck scott wolf of party of five was even in a movie that had a rave in it back in 1999. you don't get any more mainstream than that! raves have been going on in the US since at least the late 80's if not longer. anyone who lived the 80's knows the charts were chocka block with dance music even here on our far away island go back and watch beverly hills 90210, 21 jump street and any show famous in the 80's and you will see the obligatory illegal warehouse/ park/ car park dance party didn't bother reading the rest of the article -
yep agree with what ysm has pointed out. but in regards to that last line, maybe someone in marketing said yo lets get deadmau5 or tiesto in; finance said fark off out of budget; then marketing say hmmmm where can we find one of these fancy new EDM cats on the cheap; then the feral hippy new grad goes theres some pretty hip people on unearthed; finance says lock it in! then they all go to the toilet to snort coke

This is from jonnys holmie la dooda Such an awesome track. Will def be used! https://soundcloud.com/ladooda/22-1

hmmm but they said they want atmosphere, not people actually sitting there listening and or dancing; so I don't think top 40 stuff is necessarily the right thang. EDIT: in fact I think songs that are sonically full will be even better mos def play your stuff. from the old days and your new stuff. they obviously picked you out from unearthed for your tracks. I would say a range of ambient drumstep or glitch type shit; moving into more prog house then stepping up to funk hose; before it gets all disco and electro in this place. scattering your tracks in between! here ill even do an adjf playlist to visualise it cairo sweetish chris gould empia bad habitz bootlegs street jonny b bonzee knockep up noise slop rock moar empia edit: damn how could i forget sweetish

If you have one of the new MacBook pros without a cd drive you can buy 1 that plugs into the USB port, only like $90 from the Mac store too much. wouldn't need it for anything else. if I was gonna do that may as well play the 119 to upgrade to traktor 2

oh fark just realised an issue. I cant load from the disc because MacBook pro's have no CD drives...... a bigg ass thumb for anyone that can find a legitimate DL link for version 1.2.7 or before EDIT: all good I can download on my current machine and just copy the file over. time to thumb myself

anyone using a mac book pro or air from 2013
eggssell replied to eggssell's topic in Computer Corner
cool. yeh apparently its something to do with the usb 3 cards on them, didn't work with the legacy sound cards. so audio 10 and audio 6 should have no probs. I didn't have anymore time to dig but I did find one post I think on djtechtools or NI saying the problem was fixed. but a part of me still thinks they are not going to make it easy for me to stick with audio 8 and version 1. -
anyone using a mac book pro or air from 2013
eggssell replied to eggssell's topic in Computer Corner
cool thanks. I should have said in particular the older ones Audio 8 and Audio 4. The newer ones are fine. -
AND also using a native instruments sound card have you had any issues? or is it all good? refer to this fred for some background viewtopic.php?f=12&t=14435#p211455

hmmmm might not even have a choice looks like whatever usb cards they are using for their new lappies (definitely confirmed on the macBook air from this year), they don't work with the old NI sound interfaces (like the audio 8 ). assuming the latest macBook pros are using the same usb cards might mean I cant get the new macBook pro I was considering!! looks like my old trusty 7+ year old xp asus is just gonna have to keep going a few more years anyways, if anyone has a 2013 mac laptop and using an audio 8 or audio 4, let us know if you have it working.

hi. anyone still using version 1? and had to recently install it since it was discontinued. I still am, and using a version that was probably two or three before they killed it. and im possibly going to get a new laptop soon and im hoping that I can still get a version (if I didn't have it saved somewhere) of version 1. cant find shit online. I know I can load from CD and then just upgrade from the control centre. but curious whether they've killed that, and ill be forced to use the cd version only (which isn't particularly bad as it was a stable version). I don't really want to pay for the upgrade kit (I think 119 bucks) since I really just use it as a crate. turn it on, load track to this deck, load track to that deck, and repeat. I don't even organise playlists in it (I do that in trainspotter). so 119 bucks for nothing is way too much. the only advantage I could see is I can buy the slow roast records control vinyl but that in itself is not worth it!
