on another note I do want to start doing all vinyl mixes. especially with the all the 45's ive been picking up. and I also want to introduce an external looper like what all the OGs used (scratch perverts, a-trak etc etc). I don't want to use the mpc, as its too much of an overkill. im looking for just a cheapo one that can do maybe up to 24 - 30 second loop. foot pedal would be awesome. but coming to the realisation my mixers send/ return functionality is extremely limited so cant do everything I was hoping to do.

brag much Ha didnt mean to sound to kool for skool! (trust me, im my own harshest critic!) But sometimes even just holding the record dead still, serato will judder and move the track slightly, very annoying when trying to hold a cut ready for the drop! hehe I know I was just hacking on ya when qbert compared tsp and serato scratch, I think he said that tsp had a more true response to the finer/ faster scratching. the vids around here somewhere

brag much I buy heaps but mainly old stuff, as for me I need heaps and heaps of music. so getting new stuff digitally doesn't bother me. if all albums came with DL cards, and cost maybe 5 (maybe 10) bucks more. id be buying heaps more LPs. and if 12 inches or singles came w say 3 mixes or an instrumental on one side AND a DL card, id pay 5-8 bucks for them

I cant remember. ill let one of the mobile dj's let you know. there are a few on here, just give it a couple of days. oh yeh I remember now, there is a "playing out" licence you will need. and as above you will also need that digital music licence (if it is still around) which was if you had converted vinyl or cd's to mp3's

welcome to adjf hahaha. its okay we've changed from those days no licence needed BUT if one of your tracks is from the many companies and artists that scan youtube, no type of licence will allow your mix to stay up. it will be taken down (do not include any songs from prince) someone will need to be paying APRA. so if its not the club it will need to be you. back in the day there used to also be a digital music licence needed if you are not using vinyl or cd's, but I know there were calls to scrap this (haven't looked in a while). if the place regularly has people palying out OR even a tv that plays music I would think thye have some sort of licence if it is a private party and you are not getting paid then no licence. if you are getting paid... went back to collingwood yest for some crate digging, this time at northside records Grabbed a few 12 inches (ninjasonik, murs w shock g, lisa lisa and the cult jam); plus the new snoop n dam funk collabo LP but the score was they had a box of jamaican 45s for four bucks each!! I just sat there pulled out about 30. Listened and wittled it down to 15. i couldve easily got more but my backpack is already gonna be heavy as. still plenty there for anyone in the neighbourhood.

I would assume it wouldnt be the case in time code as you are not controlling the pitch from within the software as opposed to HID you are just using the cdjs as midi contollers for the software

i use traktor but have no idea what you mean Then again only used cd players twice. and even then i was a little lost and tried to use them like turntables as best i could any chance of clarifying a bit more
