  1. yep cheap as chups too compared to sydney shuttle
  2. i don't exactly agree w cupertino about finance. debt can be very handy if you use it well and avoid interest and fees as much as you can. things are a little tougher these days but I ran off debt for ages without ever paying interest, and minimised my fees. and now that I don't have debt I keep all my cash earning interest for a whole month, and then pay for everything (except rent which I would if I could) via credit card, then pay it off in full each month. so double bonus! interest and points. my hotel for the meat is fully paid for by points!!! in regards to OP, it may be interest free but look at the terms. if setup fees, and account keeping fees are more than what a personal loan interest will be then you are getting jipped. in fact in my opinion if THERE ARE setup fees and account keeping fees I wouldn't do it. then like cupe said, just save
  3. oh and i wasnt been discouraging to any of the non-regulars (even the non posters) from showing up! i was just trolling since i dont have facey so dont recognise anyones real names but yeh hope one and all show up!
  4. looks at facebook rollcall. wonders.. Who are these whales. hahaha
  5. nice post mate. i like the look of the nord. the nord leads were on my shortlist when i was looking but couldnt find any cheap second hands and that drum n bass synth looks aiight too
  6. wu tang!!! here is my shuffle for today lisa mitchell - heroine yeh thats right i listen to lisa mitchell. say something
  7. I think the hipsters who have driven this growth would more likely go for an audiophile type of deck. tbh though ive been keeping my eye out for a cheap portable one, the ones that look like a small lunch box/ toy brief case that opens up into a turntable. that way together with my ghettoblaster I can have a portable option
  8. ummm pretty sure the patents technics held that ended related to the direct drive model this ended ages ago which gave birth the oem models.
  9. oh and I have all six issues of the comic haven't read it yet. I may wait till the vinyl arrives so it can be in the background as I read it
  10. oh yeh here is where I last used bandcamp anyways... how random. I pretty much wrote off ever seeing this vinyl. and turns out rza posted on his facebook that it was coming out and listed all the people's names that ordered it. including mine umm yay
  11. those photos don't do it justice. its windows all around and multi level. its not the one with halfpipe, but it is the one filled with kaws and murakami artworks http://www.realtor.com/news/pharrell-up ... penthouse/
  12. its probably like the st-150s where you can set the pitch range (I don't know what else to call it). so normal, bigger (- and + 5%); even bigger (- and + 10%); huuuge (- and + 20%)
  13. a turn table with built in time code wouldn't be that bad a thing? i.e. insert USB, then it has a display to go thru folders and pick a track. then everything else is per time code. so means no need for computer and no need for crates of records but all the playability of using vinyl
  14. well this one time in bandcamp... hehe. its been a minute but I have grabbed a few things off bandcamp in the past. like one of the dudes here, cant remember his name but he did awesome glitch hop remixes. all of his shit was off there. ill have a look when I get home
  15. for an arvo drank, you know what place you would like is this little bar that is just a gap between some buildings, filled with shipping containers and demountables. andyman do you know the name? I know its between little bourke and lonsdale on the swanston block. first laneway after you get into chinatown. always nice chilled beat laden tunes. drinks are a little pricey though
  16. I get there on 20th too, but will be working out of the melbourne office on thursday and friday daytime. but keep us posted on where you at for the evenings. there is a nice funk band at golden monkey on thursday nights and the dj does alright too
  17. yeh when in mexico we'll be drinking VB throw downs which have been sitting in barrels of ice then grab a couple of longys for when we cruise
  18. have you never been to melbourne. you can get whatever food you want until the wee hours of morning. kfc (korean fried chicken); poutine; yum cha whetevers clever
  19. nah all good I clicked on that during the weekend. that was when I saw the hotel pics. didn't realise times and shit were on it.
  20. whats a facebook... cool
  21. man looking to be a pretty hectic weekend. what time is lunch on the sat? amongst partying with my fellow adjfers a pair of shoes I want are coming out that Saturday, and im picturing having to get to either FL or nike at about 6am. plus one of my poker homies is down there for the month (last official count last week he was up 8K after 10 days, and he just sent me a pic of 4K of chips last night. but don't know how he ran on the weekend). so I want to hit the tables on one of the nights. plus we still going record shopping onetime right oxy, wrexy? plus have to eat all the things
  22. haha is this the one with the skate bowl or the one with the half pipe
  23. not really. As soon as you make something you control the copyright of the song (the actual musical idea involved in it) and also the copyright of the recording which is a separate right. If a label signs your track it will give you a contract which states you are handing over control of the copyright of the recording to them. This will of course be different if your a band and a label signs you and pays for the production of an album or whatever. The label will automatically own the recording copyright but the copyright of the song remains with the artist(s). oh yeh I didn't mean the rules of copyright are different. I meant practices will be different. i.e. labels may be willing to pay an upfront one off fee and wear the risk of a flop, but an independent would be disinclined to pay an upfront fee because of the risk of no cash flow.
