but my point was that it wouldnt be much different then what the artist would get for vinyl. i.e. just cuz it cost you $20 there are more fingers in the pot (importers; pressers; packaging; transport; etc.). so the artist probably still only ends up with 20 cents out of that $20.

ha ha. go dvs man. feels like vinyl, smells like vinyl, tastes like vinyl! oh wait cuz your using vinyl... except access to tunes is much better. and i know cairo mentioned by buying vinyl supports the industry, but buying digital probably ends up with the artist getting the same amount. the reason digital is cheaper is no shipment, no packaging, no importing. in fact as most are doing away w/ expensive recording companies so they are getting more! and most def selling more. most new electronic dance artists have prob sold more digitally then they would have pressing wax or cd's. and the old "but your getting rid of the crate digging aspect" arguement don't fly either, cuz trust it takes a lot of wading through music to find tracks you like. okay so im not supporting the wharfies but i am supporting the music industry. aiight off my soapbox, and the digital vs vinyl/ cd horse im sure has been beaten, skinned, burnt and buried to death already.

you guys been getting onto beatport or juno cuz of the strong AUD. i had abot 40USD in my beatport crate for the last couple weeks and thought i better go checkout since the AUD so good. ended up getting another 25USD of stuff ontop!! ha ha.. im an addict loving the new uffie (esp. the the Starkey mix and the Zombie Disco mix). also the Bitch youre fierce - scott harris mix (thanks for the pointer to this dude jonnyb. added to my beatport followed list. hmmmm.... that should be a topic, who you following in beatport/ juno/ dancemusichub....)

wait for a dj warehouse sale!thats what i did..he he lightsounds is in darlinghurst around the corner from store dj. i dont think they are particularly cheaper. just check these three stores prices and they will all price match so go wherever convenient and has stock. for brand new anywho. if going 2nd hand: ebay, the buy/sell gear forum here or at itm. i checked cash converters a little and trading post and they were pretty shyte for decks and mixers, more for PA stuff.

oh okay. what if i was just chopping up a track, and wanted to screw up and resequnce them. maybe add some more drums and bass. then this cut down version should do huh? ill prob test out all the avail software that offer trials, but i think ableton on paper look good so figured i could mess with this cheapo version for a while. i know the cheapo plus upgrade in future ends up more expensive then just getting the whole hog up front, but one. i may never upgrade (as at now not looking t produce own tracks); and two. just outright cant afford it (prob cant afford live intro for another 6 months anywho... ha ha). for now it will be doing it old school, using the two copies of the same song running on vinyl, faders, and traktor effects to chop and remix! EDIT: when i say cheapo i mean cheaper than the full version, not cheap cuz 2 hunge is still plenty

hey as anyone seen that ableton live intro. other then the number of tracks, and a few other things, seems to do the same as Live 8 but for $500 cheaper. reckon its worth it for beginners?

ha ha cd's killed wax a generation ago, just as digital will kill the cd. what difference does it make if you use serato, traktor, mix vibes, spin or whatever other dvs systems that are out there. its more convenient, its cheaper, definitely opens up tunes to anybody. meaning it boils down to the skills in terms of making it sound good. if i could get the mixes you find on 12" for hip hop i would not buy vinyl again. because truth is all the vinyl i had (and will buy) i will likely digitise so i can carry in my digital "crate" with my other 5000 odd songs.

carne man, nothing wrong w/ digital djs. if you can party rock who cares what devices you use. i mean i remember in the early 90's when all the cdj's were coming, we use to say the same thing. look at them with their cues and sync buttons. but now i see some of the people in the game doing some mad shyte with midi controllers, keyboards, vocoders whatever they can find. i mean that dj rafik clip with two turntables and a kontrol rocks. also if you think about it, dj's use to produce sampling a track, cuttin it up, running thru effects, and then sequencing to make a whole new house track. people can now do that live! have you ssen kid kenobi on those stanton tron looking things, kills it. truh is a good dj is a good dj, a shit one is shit. personnaly i use traktor in absolute mode, which is basically like two turntables. i am trying to introduce a midi for loops and samples. in regards to wtf, i have the eli escobar mix, the nadastrom mix, and the dub, but never heard the deekline. i may have to cop that somewhere! i bought the deekline & wizard backup, coming throuh compilation a while back which rocked.

since jaytee cracked open the non-dance tracks. heres my contribution, not my fave track of the year (never really searched you tube for tracks), but one of my faves that i did come across on you tube. its a track by young keno (the 3rd guy), but he's the shittest one on the whole the track! heh. just like that drake track, he gets killed by yeezy, weezy and em. go the skaters... EDIT: oops i just realised this was the "current" fave you tube.. ha ha. well that drake vid jaytee dropped is ancient... heh. oh well having refound this, im likig it again. well tk's, ya boys and tygas verses anywho.
