  1. +rep pill, awesome info. as ive mentioned ive also thought about doin it part time. mainly to support the habit (music one that is). good luck fab, let us know how it goes!
  2. grafitti overalls sweet. i once graffed a grrls shorts with a character and then a short phrase from a bell biv devoe song!! i didnt use waterproof markers though so it washed out. heh. bbd ftw +rep
  3. yeah traktor makes you a fail dj like carl cox, pete tong, hawtin, dennis ferrer, craze, klever, grand master flash. traktor and all dvs systems is just a method of delivery, it doesnt determine greatness. whether or not if you use beatmatching. i mean people these days dont seem to give shyte to cdj users who use sync and loop buttons, but back in the 90's we called them cheats. but now that im older and wiser i dont think that way anymore.
  4. good ey
  5. i agrees (hey prior to march i use to write reviews!!). i think that there should be like a week before bumping though, because im sure like most during the 9 to 5 we are behind firewalls so can't check soundcloud etc. then on weeknights where there isn't chores (groceries, family commitments, board meetings), there is still cooking dinner and cleaning up. let alone trying to actually get sometime on the decks. i rection i prob log on from home maybe one night a week, hence why most my posts are from work. i know i gots plenty to catch up on from my holidays. but yeah i think this forum is a great oppurtunity to share thoughts and there have been some crackers (cairo i still had yer EP in my playlist for my roadtrip, after dark rocks)
  6. maybe he's a roo? heh. jokes. welcome man!
  7. heyman. this reminds me im sure i mentioned it before but i rection it would be good to start a thread of "what i just bought" or " who i follow in beatport/juno". i read in a book a lot of dj's get tips for new tunes from other dj's (z-trip, klever, craze, hawtin...). im not saying dont spend the hours digging the crates, thats part of the fun of it, but a tip here and there can lead you places. jonnyb your tip for Scott Harris, got me onto filthy bitch records, which got me onto kid komas and so on. im a music fiend so find it hard to say must have songs (i try not to hear the same song twice in one week so i continually need to feed my habit with new tracks). anywho just quickly spinning my dial on my ipod here are some randoms (sticking in the electronic dance music scene but i got heaps of other stuff too if you down w/ that): Silverscreen - F is for! - Rob Kay & Shamus Mix Plump DJs - My Hi Tops - Riva Starr Bass Mix (in fact just check Riva Starr) Keith Mackenzie - Get with the program - Calvetron mix (same check calvetron) Christian Cheval - Drop it Sporty-O - Ill Off 808 - Wonk gets ill remix loving anything ninjasonik right now, ummm and cassian, fukkk off, telephoned, gramaphndzie, dirty disco, dj zinc... ha ha ill go forever.. maybe refer to the thread i will start.
  8. hey man welcome. im not a cdj person so cant help there but plenty of cool peeps here will.

    Hello

    hey yo
  10. Oh yeah forgot your Funk House inbetween: Laidback Lukes & Greg Salto collabos "Step By Step" and "Shine Your Light" kill!! i went with Big Room Mix for Step by Step, and the Vocal Club Mix for Shine Your Light.
  11. some nice tracks there (anything riva starr rocks, and so does Ou Est Le Swimming Pool). disco is the shyte!! other ones to try is Cassian's Friday Night EP is cool All 3 tracks from the Discotexas Forbidden Cuts Vol 1 EP are great, in fact i think the Discotexas label have heaps of gems Dustin Hulton & DJ Icon - Welcome to My dancefloor (i like the wireless mice remix) Swick - Grow Up (Cassian Remix) and for the transition to house Remady - No Superstar (Calvetron Mix), while mos def not disco the vocal hook and melody would fit into a disco set (beginning from 1.29 very laidback and funky, and builds like a disco track then drops after a minute into some good old wonkiness).
  12. hey this album rocks. m-phazes is an australian hip hop producer on the obese records line-up. he enlisted some of our finest lyricists for this album, and because of that it has a lot of variety. prob my best album for 2010 (then again i dont really buy full albums much just tracks from juno and beat port). anyone doubting oz's position in hip hop, check this album. ive always said the oz hip hop production has been better then its american or even uk equivalent (okay dre is still the king) due to use of live instrumentation and taking a less repititive angle. ps im back! will check all the new mixes and tracks over the next couple of days.
  13. as opposed to white american r&b and rap??? i know people write off rnb and rap only because all they know is what they hear in the top 40, but just remember top 40 electronic music is not the best either, which is why it can get frustrating when people say i hate doof doof and they quote some top 40 pop crossover dance music. theres tracks out there i don't like either but there's plenty of great hip hop, but its not everyones cup of tea. end rant. havent heard mixx yet will give it a whirl tonight.

    hello

    hey yo.
  15. yeh buck's your man. i havent got that mixer but i do have the reloop iq2. damn sweet faders (ive tried an older pioneer 4 channel and a stanton scratch mixer and it kills both). shyte loads of ins and enuff outs.effects are nice and easily controllable. fader curves are heaps adjustable. cross fader effects are redundant. and no switchable fader switches. spewin the last store dj sale had it for about 1/2 what i paid.
  16. hey man. ya consider DVS? save from having to buy vinyl unless you already got a stash or already a buyer. judging from yer handle, you a hip hop fan, and buyin hip hop vinyl can get pricey, then again getting it online in oz is freakin hard. i find direct from artists or labels the only way
  17. yo yo..
  18. welcome man
  19. oh yeah my badd. didnt relise it was a ressurection. the lols are on me i guess!!!
  20. recordstore sydney's got heaps, but like all new vinyl not cheap. http://www.recordstore.com.au/1dubstep.htm thats as on their site now but its rarely updated more in store. ps buk_choi, check any cairo or jonnyb post they can barely go a sentence without mentioning it. lol
  21. hey mitchnmatch. nice. but hella late... ha ha ha ha. are you tweeting whle mixing! lol oh yeah are you recording from the camera mic or have you got an out from the mixer into the camera. cuz thats coming thru clean as?
