hey man finally got on it. not sure about upbeat, i guess maybe the drum track but the actual song envokes mellowness. (okay going to show my ignorance) not sure what to call it but the thing playing the melody is quite nice, and adequate amount of change ups. as i said quite mellow rather than haunting like your other tracks. like the quieter part at 2.00. cant say its my thang, but nicely done. i think you really have a way of making atmospheric/ mood type tunes. i know you hate vocals, but i could imagine a cutesy yet soulful grrl vocal (like the lady from everything but the girl) on this stuff. oh yeah i loves kevin smith (no homo, well maybe a lil bro crush ha ha). saw clerks 2 in state theatre when he was down and he did like a 2 hour q & a afterwards, freakin laffed my ass off!

i know most peeps arent in sydney, but anyone else get on this? and if so anyone heard anything more?
-
+1 to the above. my mixer takes donkeys before it finally comes up with a count, and it can sometimes be 1 away from what traktor says, so i know they aint accurate. if you use it at all its only as a guide so you know where to pitch it in at, but other then that its gotta be the ear.

yeah cool track i dig it. otay i dont listen to much dubstep, this was alright, i liked the ska guitar sounds (i can see the bad boys reference frm above). the first part of the song till the geetars kick at 2.20 didnt really do much for me, but from then on i liked. the bassy sound at 2.50 and the reverby crashes,to when the tune kicks in at 3.40. id easily play from 2.20 to end, not really my sound to do the whole thang. otherwise production all good.

hey man. yeah really enjoyed that one too. reminds me of old sphagetti westerns. that part at 1.00 is like someone just entered a place and everything is quiet and brooding. love the guitar/ string thing too esp. when reverb kicks in. maybe a little tingy after the reverb till 2.00. which is less noticeable the second time round you bring the guitars in cuz more is happening. nice amout of switch up too. oh i just heard the bassline in the outro liking that too (went back to listen to see if it was the same..he he). hey chev when i read your comment earlier today i was expecting the chopsticks that everyone learns on beginners piano!

Traktor pro Vs Serato scratch live....for scratching
eggssell replied to wazza's topic in Digital & Software
from karlos santos of NI forum: i never thought about it, but I did notice qbert was using timecode with one side scratch breaks. ive always spewed cuz i know serato had def jam, stones throw records and heaps of these one sided timecodes. but if there is going to release one side timecode, one side super seal that would be awesome!!!! it would mean you can flip do a few wigga wiggas then flip back and continue mixing. right now i ripped super seal to mp3 then just call it up as a track, but it means there are no markings, as oppossed to this you could sticker up the super seal side. thats awesome. knowing this it does make me think this whole test may have been "sanctioned" by NI though... -

Traktor pro Vs Serato scratch live....for scratching
eggssell replied to wazza's topic in Digital & Software
again you cant beatlock while using timecode. also i know a lot of turntablists invested in serato and now cant get out of using it be it habit or cash. but considering no one has won more dmc championships then craze and he chooses traktor its good enuff for me. dont get me wrong i wanted serato, but djwarehouse was only discounting traktor, so i did my homeworks and seeing as i dont aspire to being a turntablists, while at the same time old school (flash), new school (rafik) and the best (craze) have all gone traktor i figured it was good enuff for me. something else i found out recently, serato has a relative mode just like traktor, so how can traktor using vinyl be anymore faker (i try not to be passive aggressive homophobic) than serato? true to the poo you can use traktor with just your laptp, but if you comparing it as a dvs system, traktor has so much more. -
watch it man else Gestapple will be sending you a letter

the way of future live performance! EDIT: song starts 1.30

ha ha. nah im not a hater (i love my ipod, 3.5 years old, almost 6000 songs and still goes hard)but i do get quite frustrated at they seem to think they can tell you what you want: no you dont want to be able to visit flash sites no you dont want to be able to use your 32gb device as a hard drive no you dont want to be able to control your iphone from multiple computers no you dont want full video capability on your new ipad 3G no you dont want your songs to play randomly when you select SHUFFLE!! no you don't want the latest hardware specs available in your brand new pricey laptop

and allow apple to control you. its in the t's & c's

once upon a time general jane had a WHALE, and captain john said im going to fuck that. after an explosive battle, captain john went to the dunny to have a shit with his coffe and ciggy... i love the swear filter. ha ha

you cant beatlock in traktor when using vinyl. and im pretty sue you cant beatlock when using cdjs either, i.e it cant be used with timecode.
-
welcome trucking nice setup man.. you forgot the xbox on your list! he he
-
traktor in absolute mode is the same you can close the screen and its basically a set of decks. you can even have it so that to change song you flip the vinyl so it feels like youre changing a record.
-
oh yeah, what genres you into?
-
heyyup there is no right or wrong just whatever you down for. if you go turnies or cdjs you can always get the basics of beatmatching and dropping a track in (just stay away from the sync button and bpm readers). just know that getting vinyl is more expensive and more difficult, as opposed to cdjs where you can access all the online stores. unless of course you get a vinyl emulation system (traktor, serato, mix vibes, mixxx and a million others). i went turntables only cuz im an oldie, heh

oh okay. i thought it was in reference to sylvan from the derris family used throughout kevin smiths viewaskewniverse films.
-
hey man will check when i gets a chance. is sylvan a viewaskew reference?
