  2. hey man welcome quality on the cheap usually means either 2nd hand or wait for a good sale (there seems to be a sale every 3 months but only maybe one a year is actually any good) yeah ive learnt a thing or two from the peeps here
  3. while studio comes with logic pro and then some MainStage 2 (application for live performances) Soundtrack Pro 3 Plug-ins & Sounds Impulse Response Utility (used to create custom convolution reverbs) Apple Loops Utility (used to create custom loops). WaveBurner 1.6 (CD mastering application) Compressor 3.5 (video and audio data compression application) not being a mac or a producer most of that is jibberish to me. hopefully it helps...
  4. hey tomy Logic Express Logic Pro and Express share most functionality and the same interface. Logic Express is limited to two-channel stereo mixdown, while Logic Pro can handle multichannel surround sound; Logic Express also lacks support for TDM/DAE systems, high-end control surfaces and Distributed Audio Processing. Logic Express 8 comes with 36 software instruments and 73 effect plug-ins, including almost all of those in the Logic Pro Package. Those that it doesn't include are Sculpture, a physical modelling synthesiser; the "vintage" instruments (the EVB3 tonewheel organ, the EVD6 Clavinet and the EVP88 Electric Piano), however a cut down version of these are included with the GarageBand instruments; Space designer, a convolution reverb effect; and delay designer, an advanced delay effect. Users with GarageBand can upgrade it to Logic Express. source: wiki
  5. ummm to be fair. he (they) already did. its a radio station/ label based in taiwan but has artists in new zealand. i remember officer cupe nearly banned them thinking it was spam but they actually came back.
  6. a signed alan border bat ummm nah ill have the portable vestax he he. nice one cupe let us know what goodies they are. so does this mean this is just some poor dj who is prob overseas and didnt let the storage know the new expiry date of his credit card so they're selling all his gear
  7. POST EDITED BECAUSE TOO WHINY. nice video showing how to use a cdj (which is prob only of any specialness to people like me who hasnt used cdj's)
  8. doh in qld. all yours cupe. that portable vestax rocks too.
  9. how the f do you find a synth?? thru will.i.am's car window isn't finding man but for real, what the?
  10. hey man welcome cant vote cuz can't listen at work, but will do when i next get a chance
  11. you say bmore i say booty tech... i think genres can sometimes be like colours though. what you relate to a genre may not necessarily how another person relates to a genre. and exposure in that scene can usually also determine how you see things. for example a non hip hop person may call all of it rap (or crap if you feel inclined). while a hip hopper will call it old school, new school, true school, backpacker, conscious, gangsta etc. or a non punk person may just call it punk, while someone in the scene will say oh thats core, softcore, hardcore, popunk, nu-ska, nu punk etc. personally i suck at genres but when i cretae crates i genrify it as i see it.
  12. what isnt made in china?? apple products; most parts of technics; not sure about pioneer but wouldnt be surprised; any tv not made in korea?? i dont think that is the issue. i think its more about if you buy cheaply made things from china the will be crap.
  13. the funniest thing was the pops and clicks made it sound like authentic vinyl.
  14. yeah check your latency (not that i am 100% how and what you check for), but i think if you try to have your latency too low this happens. i think i have mine at 4 or 5 ms (i have an audio 8 though, not that it should make a difference, and running a 2.33ghz dual core) also a lot of people say external wirless cards can also cause it. It was for mine. i use a usb wirless-n stick and i would occassionally get pops, not particularly with scratching just the more "cluttier" songs , i.e songs with a lot going on. but if i unplug the wirless stick all clear as day.
  15. yeah easily one of my fave labels.
  16. hmm i dont think it was the one that did the xxxchange doco, but its a freaking awesome site. prob best site ive found in a long time since i dont know here. check out the creators page. the diplo one was really good, although i love a lot of stuff from mad decent, diplo's pics always came thru a little arrogant but he's nothing like that in his interview. much more respect, should never judge a book by its cover! (i always frequent the mad decent site, for anyone who hasnt checked lately check it and go get the heaps decent thing they did in syd). and cairo check spike jonze's one.
  17. awesome mini doc on a-traks label. not sure if this from same place that did an awesome mini doc on xxxchange. will check it. anywho below is the fools gold one. dust la rocs the man cant figure out the embed heres the link anywho http://thecreatorsproject.com/creators/ ... aOpleazCoa
  18. natas ma i, natas ma i, natas m... 667 doh!
  19. oh man just heard the carte blanche mix of this track, well part of it anywho, kills. carte blanche is dj medhi who rocks and some other dude.
  20. nice chilled track, like some of yer ones from back in the day. like cbg liking the clap sounds. and liking the little sounds you use, like that backward sounding / reverby thing that comes thru in most of the second half. but maybe a little too loud with that sounds during the break in the middle. i usually listen to the tracks, then replay while typing and it scared the fugg out of me. not my preferred sound and a little low tempo but another nicely done song.
  21. make sure ya keep us posted of a release man. noticed on yer soundcloud its dated. so will it be from dubx or via juno?
  22. nice intro (and again in the middle), very head bopper sound. reminds of some 90's song about the wacky weed but cant recall it, not necessarily the tune but just the way it made me bop my head reminded of the clip. nice first drop into the wicked bass sound. liking that drum beat from 1.00 that really fast almost a roll sound. pretty good. dont know the orig so dont what elements you've used but i enjoyed that. is this that robot dubstep that was going on in the other post?
  23. dont know the orig, and cant say this song is up my alley. bit too slow and a bit too minimal. like the wayward sounds (growls and i rection i heard monkeys ha ha). not much too add really.
  24. like the synth part of intro and the whispy parts, very deep and scary. bass melody thing good. nice short track. outro a little bit plain but its an outro so no biggy. thats another one from your dubstep track thats alright, again not my preferred genre but nice enuff to have playing.
