well to qualify i knew a-trak was a dj, as i knew he had been kanye's tour dj. i just did not know his body of work

forgot they made a clip of this. dj kentaro featuring spank rock. love the beats love the rhymes. this was the first kentaro track i heard having been a massive spank rock fan boi. which then got me looking at dmc videos which i had not looked at for many years. which led me to a-trak. which led me to more djing vids incl the scratch doco and mixing tutorials like dj tutor. nek minit i say fug it go and buy decks.

i dont really need to ask anyone for leave. i approve my own. but there are certain times i cant take leave because of practicality (no one does the work while im gone) and remember ive just moved here and spent two weeks in the US so dont have much leave. in fact i wont be coming back for xmas and new years because of that. so need to make sure i keep some in the bag for next year xmas. so yeh meat is first priority

in regards to pressings, madslips, we actually found a place that does short run pressings. minimum 10 from memory and it wasnt a bank breaker. but yeah they clearly warn if its not vinyl mastered dont expect vinyl mastered sounds.

now my experience in production is getting to 10 or 12 tutorials of a 30+ tutorial book on using an MPC so i kind of know what you mean. but i think one good thing i read somewhere before that either tomy or jonnyb posted up, dont go in thinking your gonna create a smash hit on the first go. start small and take baby steps, maybe first time just learn how to create a beat or bassline. once thats done be happy for that session, and maybe spend next hour just farking around. then the next time back start with learning something new again. once you get that down pat. spend an hour messing about using the two things you know. and so on.
