  1. hahahahahaha
  2. for sure
  3. better the head than the face mate!
  4. oh and one final thang. do you guys break in your headphones. my audiophile mate use to play this white noise to break in something (drivers or pads or something). then again his headphones were 600 to 1G
  5. okay sorry for being an indecisive git, i hate how i always ponder every sale its the accountant in me. anywho these are obviously awesome headphones but the size thing is still bugging me. and sucks cuz i know they aint on display at the shop so cant just chuck em on. i just read a review of someone saying because band doesnt touch his head the cans have to sit low on his ear, surely that fugs with isolation? now i dj with headphones on head, one ear on and one ear off, then while in the mix i push the one ear on slightly back. i.e i dont do the shoulder/ ear tilt head thing anyone envisage any problems if they are too tall for my head or will the cans be tight enuff on my head to keep it from falling off. and anyone else have the problem of having to have the cans sit low. (the solution to that was to wear a baseball cap so the nib on top adds a bit of height but sounds like too much hassle) heading out tonight to buy (i thinks) else gonna go the stock standard hd 25s
  6. sounds awesome club w/ no hot grrls!!! he he
  7. hey mate. in the software you need to setup in preferences which inputs the cd's are plugged into (i assume A & . then ensure that deck A&B are setup as scratch control.
  8. will struggle to get all that brand new. now i dont know enuff about speakers. but i reckon second hand stanton st150's or str150's; and a lower end brand new 2 channel mixer (maybe even the 3 channel Reloop RMX30) and youll be just over $1,000. where are you planning on playing? if at home and you can live with using a stereo you may already have, then $2K will easily get you brand new stanton turntables, and an even better 2 channel mixer
  9. oh what was i thinking, you wont get decks and mixer for 500 but 1000 is doable. Djaz, for a dvs you need the hardware else software doesnt help (serato is actually free to download).
  10. hey man welcome if you want to go vinyl and already have shyte loads of cds then consider a DVS (serato or traktor scratch) problem is it will rely a computer. but its good because you can take advantage of your existing music collection. of course though itll cost another 500 to 650. which will leave you w 500 to 1000 for decks n mixer which is doable if ya search enuff
  11. not sure if in the major cities that same classification would count. you have to remember a club is nothing more than a venue and the nights are events. so you could have say greenwood. which would do rnb on one night then house on another (the hardcore room i assume goes for both nights). so you could say its a single genre not pop music but hardly underground. id call an underground club one that does absolutely no promotion and it runs from word of mouth.
  12. hey mate welcome yeah man i too would love to mixxx hip hop and booty tech/ bmore like the way say craze or z-trip do but keep train wrecking and revert back to disco and house. but im sticking to it!! good thing is a lot of new 2step and booty tech tracks end all jacking or wonky so can jump into jacking house or fidget track then try to make my way back (well thats what ive been doing to avoid crapping out).
  13. seriously like cupe said lets walk away and let dead doggs lie.
  14. cool cheers man. well i have no intentions of being a club dj, so all home stuff making live mixed sets for mates. as well as banging out on the regular happy wednesday, happy thursday and chilling saturdays that seem to be happening at my new place these days. having said that i keep considering taking a few mobile gigs just to feed my music addiction habit (getting too expensive). so the loud yet crisp sound of the HD-25s are nothing big to me. i guess comfortability, strength (i snapped my old plastic skull candys two weeks into djing) and a goodish sound in the mid range (i.e. ill do more tahn $200 but no more than $300). lights & sounds are doing XD-53 for $250 without haggling. and no i didnt buy the skull candys for djing, i bought them a while back even before i had decks. nice bass, thats it.
  15. hey buck you know how you said they were a little too bigg, i read that in a review too. how big is too big. ive got a small asian head too (im shorter than 6 ft) offsett by being phat. also all the other folk, i know that everyone on here says they are the shiznit (looked back at other posts and its usually just recommending the headphones but no explanation), so what are the advantages? i.e. why would i get these over the much loved HD-25's (not including they are sexier). cheers
  16. make sure your sitting down deadmau5 fans (im looking at you cbg ) beatport is running a remix comp where the main prize is to open for Deadmau5!!!!! oh and be released on his label.. okay havent checked if its open to international but all there other comps are so pretty sure it is. anywho hit up beatportal for deets. id link it but im cockblocked.
  17. link the name thread, lets ressurect.
  18. window 7 is your issue. ha ha yeah i got a 4 yr old asus on XP. kills it. even when it was 2.5 yrs old it was benchmarking better than the mac book pros that were coming out at that time. and it was only because i bought the best out there (that i could afford), which is what i always say to do when it comes to laptops. because now i have a machine that still runs great which will easily go me another year or two easy before i will need to upgrade
  19. hit up an intro in the intro section bro
  20. wait wasnt your OP saying that you were selling....
  21. yeah for sure. not sure how that type of thing is facilitated but seeing as there are only a handful right now of mobile dj's on the member list, (assuming promoters dont search online for club dj's) honesty system would do. i.e. if you get a booking thru ADJF, donate a portion of it back
  22. guess there just going to get Nightlife now to derail this thread since its well and truly had a train smash. we should have Mobile DJ Service advert type section. where people can check for mobile dj services that the members offer, and book them and stuff. okay it wont get our membership up, but it could help some of our mobile members get jobs???
  23. i dont know much about speakers but if ya got a stereo and you plan on playing at home for a bit then im +1 w/ everyone saying get the best decks you can. i run my setup thru a stereo i bought ten yrs ago. and ive always pictured if i ever truck my kit to one of the boys places id do the same just wham it into whatever stereo, television, guitar amp, alarm system is available
  24. welcome man
