Cheap-ish Serato (well cheap if it really is brand new)
eggssell posted a topic in Buy & Sell - Gear
dude has 200+ sales too. wonder if its dj tikelz of the club joint all-stars fame, though none of his other sales are dj related. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RANE-Serato-Scra ... 3f03b8be2e -

i think he means victor lopez got on onidogs kit, and chopped it up and then decided to go get some dicers of his own. i cant believe i didnt know of lopez records. i am sure i searched for vinyl in syd and only found the record store, spank records and another one in surry (name escapes me). - rep myself http://www.chem-imbalance.com/blog/?p=68 -
otay. i gets ya... yeah for sure some one on the 1 & 2's versus a keyboard basher is no comparison. thats why when i saw the z-trip aussie promo, "does what girl talk does but with turntables", i was like damn yeah!

in regards to software, yes it can crash. but as i said, every single place i have been (pub or club) in the last 12 months has at least one dj using a dvs. every single festival video i have seen, the dj's are rocking dvs systems. every tribute, opening or closing all dj's are using dvs. so even if software does crash, it obviously doesnt happen often enuff for people to say i was at such such and his latop messed up. yeah theres a handful of anectodal stories, but i have yet to find a million reviews or you tube videos of peoples software dying. and jonnyb, mix master mike rocks serato. for a while now.

and here is one i whipped up earlier
-
cool no worries cheers anywho. hopefully its not so long b/w mixes for me. cant say i know heaps of his stuff but picked up a few ive come across. that one, devils eyes and sex sax
-
cool thanks man
-
yeah thanks man!! i think thats prob why it feels a little boring cuz smack bang in the middle is the longest song which is kinda upbeat but there is no build or anything. the honest reason why its so long (and in fact during the transition out of it, it reaches its outro) was because i had messed the transition into that song so bad i checked that i had the next track beat matched about 10 times before saying okay im gonna drop it now ha ha ha
-
yeah i really struggled with it i mean i was sure id beat matched it but then i think i dropped it a tad early or maybe pushed off too hard, then tried slowing it down, then just said stuff it echo out. and bam! fail... setoff the high filter, so the kick sounds like a snare smashing into the incoming snare. yeah the tracks are a bit old too as i havent crated my last two bulk purchases. anywho thanks for the listen man!

hey j0rdz, i think cupesta already rocks tt's but wondering whether he should step into the digital world and save cdj's.
-
oh cool thanks cupe.

oh and i know you never asked in this thread, but it was mentioned this morning by someone about not having laptops in the club, now i cant speak for the oxford st scene cuz i aint been in donkeys. but speaking for sydney every venue in the cbd, and from darling harbour to cockle bay to king st wharf (including home) all have dj's rocking laptops. since i got my kit last year i have not seen any setup without a dvs being used. even the albion pub on george has a dude on serato during the week.

depend on where you want to go. any place that allows rnb/ hip hop promoters will have tt's in the booth. went out on sat to a place that was rnb and hip pop early, before going into electro house and electro rap. i am assuming commercial (i didnt recognise any of the electro except maybe black eyed peas ha ha). and it was only turntables in the booth. same at hunter bar, and as im pretty sure buck said same at haymarket club. and it can be clubs that cater for both, like tank and argyle have tt's and these places arent rnb/ hip hop clubs (though when superclub promoters take over tank there are no cd players in the booth). speaking of sat. i was thinking the dj was doing really well with his hip hop mixing (and it was hip hop! digging the crates right back to fresh prince and atcq) without resorting to wigga wigga cut or backspinning, or just doing outro to intro. it was all straight up beatmatching and doing chorus into verse. second dj was killing it, and i thought he looks pretty old, then i realised it was one of the boys from back in the day dj naiki.

depends on what software yer using and what you use it for. i use traktor scratch pro on a 15.4 inch. laptop stand ontop of left tt. works fine. browser a lil small but okay.
-
im not 100% sure what i mean as i havent really learnt how to use much of the program but i do know for sure that everyone says you cant use the sync button on timecode. which makes sense because it is expectig the pith control to be done externally (be it tt's or cd players). i havent really used beat grid either but yes you can auto beatgrid in tsp if thats what you mean. but doesnt that just put beat markers where it thinks the kick drum is?
-
yes. if you check ni forums the number one question is why wont my sync work on my tsp setup.
-
biggity bump bump bu bu bump hey all any comments would be appreciated when ya have a bit of time. even if its just looking at each transition. even if its to say keep yer day job. cheers
-
cant use sync w timecode

having said that djaz says to avoid dj city!.. heres a good comparison o all the OEM turnies (inluding the one you are looking at). ignore the rest of the post which ends up being a technics rules all thread http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77442

i dont know buck, those are T.62's in the Stanton pack. the citronic PD45 are basically an OEM thats the same as the Stanton ST150s (but 150's add line output and keylock, two features i have never used). of course i can't vouch for the overall build quality of citronic, but essentially the guts are basically the same in the PD45 and the ST150 (and i think even from the same factory).
