i could be wrong, but stems are like the individual "tracks' from the song. so bass, kick drum, hi hats, vocals etc all as seperate tracks. and yes this is the ultimate for making a remix. anyways, you can buy them on beatport. a lot of times instrumental and acapella; but even for others each stem. im at work so cant link up beatport but have a shufti around.

hey ysm again this is just from what ive found and nothing i have tried (i would test for you but i only have one controller at home). it looks like there are two options. importing two tsi's this way http://www.djtechtools.com/2010/02/24/s ... n-traktor/ but not sure about the limitations. i.e. what it does when there is a conflict. or using a single tsi and changing the channel on one of the controllers (this may be what you already tried). note in some of these examples it looks like some controllers use multi channels (like APC uses 9), so you may need to know how many channels your controllers are using and assign them so they dont clash. http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32749 http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24612 anyways good luck with it

errrrr. anyone in melb able to help me out with that artists name, its driving me nuts. he does pasteups of masks, kind of looks like wrestling masks. some little small ones but some massive ones (6-8 foot tall) around melbourne EDIT: found it, ahhhhhhh. stabs
-
yeah i went on sunday. ill post pics sometime this week. absolutely awesome. admittedly for those in melbourne it might be a bit like just walking around on the street, except of course the big installations (especially heaps of contributors from vic, including some of my faves deb; urban cake lady; and the dude that does the lucha-libre-esque paste ups. damn cant remember his name). but for syd people definitely a must. couple of tips, catch the first ferry out OR catch a normal ferry from somewhere else like woolich or greenwich. when i got back to the quay about 3pm the whole terminal was full and the lines went outside the terminal and all the way down. also you need a whole day to appreciate it all. and finally the bar setup is nice, and they were playing some good ol soul & funk tracks (sade; earth, wind & fire; barry white etc.) but the only food was pizza and there was an hour waiting time!. there are other food joints with less wait but still lineup so dflux's tip of esky is a good one. and bring food then camp out near enough to the bar to hear the sweet tunes. im def heading back for one of the secret wars; and the dance comp (shadow wars).

sorry mate cant find anything i can understand (but that could be just my lack of knowledge about cdj's), one of the other fellas who has used both will hopefully hop in and tell you soon EDIT: okay found something that wasnt too jibberish. and basically sounds like its the same kind of thing as with turnies. http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... hp?t=87944
-
not sure how it works with cd players, but on turnies relative means it doesnt matter where the needle on the record is, it will play from where you have cued it. so you could be in the middle of the record, hit your cue button and the song will go from there. i.e. in essence turning it into a big ass cd player. it also means if you pick up the needle, the track will stop, but once you put it back down anywhere on the record the song will play from where it left off. absolute mode means it will play as though the track was on the record. i.e the start would be the start of the song. and if you pick the needle up and place it further down, it will then move to that point in the song. sorry its not much help to you, but just in cse anyone else is browsing our forum and ask what is the difference between relative and absolute. ill check NI for you in regards to CD players.

hey man. according to this you can have as many controllers as you like. the limiter is how many midi notes there are (i.e. got to make sure no controllrs are sending the same note BUT youve assigned to different instructions). http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... hp?t=69253

320kpbs mp3 vs 256kpbs mp3 on some high end monitors or headphones, i reckon some of the more in tune could. 320kpbs mp3 vs 256kpbs AAC (those now sold on itunes) i dont think you can audibly hear a difference. any of them on a set of PA speakers youd have to have pretty good ears. whch im sure a lot of producers do.

ill pm you that pic but i thought they were smarites... what are we talking about again
-
because bieber rocks them

tell him to get her XD53's and hope she hasnt seen the new executive models. brushed steel and full swivel yeah sorry man never looked into them. ive said before i dont think they are shithouse, you just paying premium for the brand but also the minimum point of quality (kinda like a mac book pro's or HP's arent the best computer on the market for that price, but you know what you are going to get so people pay that premium). most monster headphones are actually quite good i just wouldnt pay the price. and ive heard that they put even better components into the beats.
-
Itunes dont sell 320kbps mp3, its their own format. 256kpbs AAC. But because its not the same format you cant compare the numbers like that. I have read that it is as good. Back in the day itunes sold 190 something bit rate which were crappier. In terms of your q, i know craze and ztrip have said they buy from itunes. Whether they playout with these i can only assume. (edit: well at least one of them but cant remember who. And no i dont have links as evidence. Its on their blogs/forums or on dj times or in mixmag)

a few beat grid tutes. ive never bothered so not sure how good they are. the second one is hip hop related http://www.djtechtools.com/2008/04/09/q ... eat-grids/ http://www.djtechtools.com/2011/02/04/h ... n-traktor/
-
^intro, traktor tends to half or double a lot of hip hop tracks. or even totally spazzes out when it is a live hip hop crew, or even some of the mpc created tracks (like kanye and 9th wonder). becuase the drums are played/ tapped out by a human which is not always constant. yes you can manually update the bpm in traktor. the long way is to actually beat grid your tracks. the short way is to just tap out the bpm externally (with a stop watch or the many available bpm apps on your idevice if you own one. i like the app BPM on an ipad. just a big ass button), and then type it over in the explorer section of traktor. now im not 100% certain (sorry at work so cant check), but regardless of which method you use i think you need to then lock the track. i know i changed a lot of tracks manually in the explorer only to have them change once i next logon. im not sure how much better mixed in key is with hip hop and r&B. maybe one of the holmies here who owns it can run a few tracks for you through it.
