  1. i think we already established that she was just a singer in that song. she never claimed to be a producer. same as it was never quincy jones featuring michael jackson; or kanye west featuring jay-z; or neptunes featuring kelis; and so on and so on. theres a difference between being an artist singing on a song produced by someone else to someone ghost producing (i.e. not credited)
  2. "laser beams" studio version live version EDIT: damn would love to hit a gig like that
  3. heres some youtube examples "system addict". one of the more poppy rap tracks. i love it, especially as it has jean grae. one of the best spitters in the game. and i wont insult her by saying one of the best grrls in the game, because she would wipe half the cocks out there no sweat.
  4. i know in the mac miller fred i said the 9th wonder album was prob the second best release of the year and i'd write up the first one, well here i go. year aint finished yet and some big ones coming (some old schoolers in common and kidz n the hall; some new schoolers like sir mikey rocks; and the roots are comin out with one too) anyways, as it stands idle warship's habits of the heart is a killer album. a lot of people may know talib kweli, one of the best lyricists in the game; or as one half of black starr with mos def; or as one half of eternal reflection with hitek; but one of his other gigs is with the beuatiful singer res as idle warship. i never heard of them in their first coming but since getting into kweli would catch the various leaked singles (for a few years now) and they finally dropped an lp. res takes on the bulk of the vocals with the occassinal 16 from kweli. a handful of guests and the beats are done by a few peeps including aus's own m-phazes on burning desire (prob one of my fave tracks). the genres are all over the shop, pop, indie (rat-a-tat feel), up beat soul (outkast or cee-loo),funky to old school. my picks are burning desire (the m-phazes one which sound like something out of breakdance, or flash dance). driving me insane (a funky/ poppy soul track). god bless my soul ( a ragga-ish/ horn laced track. think blue king brown. res' voice just kills on this track).
  5. I think thats how its intended to be. I.e use itunes playlist to locate the track, but you still need to bring it over to your traktor playlist. Then fonce in just dump in your different bins
  6. Sol i havent really used my itunes playlist but when i first got it i did read about it and mess about it. Anyways, traktor allows you to play from your itunes playlists in the explorer (folder tree thing). But it doesnt necessarily put it into your traktor playlist until the first time you play the song, and or drag the songs over from the itunes folder in traktor into your playlist folder. Then before you exit traktor, save your playlist then they will be there in your playlist. Try that. Again just to clarify im on tsp 1 and a few updates behind. So not sure if its changed in tsp 2 n
  7. I love crundy writeups, you should have a blogg. Needs pics though. Anyways sounds like a good day was had

  15. Not sure if its national, but definitely a side show happening in sydney at enmore theatre 24 jan 2012. ticks on sale next monday. http://enmoretheatre.com.au/events/2012 ... odd-future i know theres a bit of hate in regards to their lyrics, and i too am not comfortable with hate lyrics, and its unfortunate becasue these guys are a talented bunch of cats who in the most part are between 18-20 years old. and other than domo's mixtape and the upcoming album from the internet, most of the music we are getting was created a year or longer ago when they were much younger. but keep in mind if anyone remembers the slim shady lp that made em famous, he talks about rape, sodomy, incest and murder. either way i don't support any type of bigotry and its great in the interview below tyler says he over that. that said, i can't wait to see them. not sure who is coming (i hope frank ocean, but seeing as he doing future i kinda doubt it), but even if 50% of the clan come it will rock. anyone who doesnt know much about them other than sandwitches, this interview with tyler puts it all into perspective. i.e not all their songs are of that nature. that he was a little pissed off kid when he wrote those etc. and for those that dont know he produces a lot of the stuff too. and it goes all over the shop. http://www.spin.com/articles/odd-future ... aking-rich and another misconception odd future is more than just tyler. in fact IMO he isn't even the best rapper. earl the sweatshirt and mike g to me are better lyricists. tyler definitely has his place in the crew though with that deep raspy voice. and ive already raved about mellowhype, frank ocean and the internet. theres also the jet age of tomorrow. check their journey to th 5th echelon album. really great mature, forward thinking stuff here is a bit more on the rest of the golf wang crew http://www.spin.com/articles/odd-future ... -goes-road
  16. not sure if we are meant to keep Events EDM related and this should be Off Topic, if so let me know boss hogg. anyways. art exhibition for a couple days at waterloo. tonights opening has music by zwelli. i saw e.l.k and shida's stuff at outpost, it was good so looking forward to this. zwelli's writeup http://sensationmusic.net/en/users/zwelli
  17. it was by loose joints (according to wiki). looks like an album i could dig, i might have to check it
  18. its friday night and the weekends here i need to get down wheres the shuffle mister dee eejay the rules again, from whatever device you playing your music, hit the shuffle/random button and let us know what comes out. try not to restrict to a playlist or album (of course if you using a single cd player thats difficult). otay dj spin that wheel.... game - touchdown from the LAX album a few years ago now. awesome beat with an oldschool sample a la kanye stuff (just wiki'd and sure enuff its a curtis mayfield sample). got the old funkadelic type chorus, and even has a singing verse by raheem davaughn. not one of my fave tracks on the album but a very nice song. and very west coast. i can imagine riding my electra rat rod through my neighbourhood at sundown, VB longneck in one hand, chinning up hello to the holmies that i pass.
  19. hey richo long time no hear mate. hope you still repping the elements hard son!! anyways, okay if im not mistaken you using time code via external mixer (i.e. mixer is not midi controlling). as you say all wired up correctly, so here are a few things you can try: may be a software assignment. check in your preferences that the A & B decks are assigned to the correct channels the particular decks are plugged into. also ensure none of the swap deck settings are selected. i think its in the same screen as deck assignment. also detach, clean and reattach your cartridge. i know this may sound wierd, but time code relies on the info that is being sent thru the cartridges, and i remember a while back my time code lines were just showing flat. i did this and it was all good. now this may not help, but you should do this anyway. change your soundcard settings (not sure if you had audio 4 or audio 8 but whichever one) to phono. i saw this suggestion on the NI forums saying that timecode actually reads better in phono than the timecode setting. and sure enough it did. and final thing, did you upgrade to the latest software version (and firmware if there was one). if the answer is yes then roll back. apparently it was a shocker. as per another thread, NI is as bad as apple are on iphone software. only every other one is worth going to. so you best watch the forums before upgrading. im still 2 or 3 behind. anyways good luck with it.
  20. its the day after thanksgiving in the US. and usually marks the start of their sales for the run up to xmas. but a lot of stores have black friday only deals which causes crazy lines. and then some retailers started having product launches on black friday to hype. jordan brand always release a pair on black friday, and it use to cause riots and shyte. here is apple, yeah not very much http://store.apple.com/au/browse/holiday/shopping_event
  21. the black friday sales are on today. but apple is not known for being very generous but maybe check it.
