  1. okay so we use to have an interviews section, but as it was not used very often it was merged into DJHQ during the move. lets discuss the merits of having its own section versus leaving it where it is in HQ
  2. that is awesome recognition of your work mann and awesome repping of the barrio, which you helped build! cupe lets ask that question offline.
  3. hey man welcome. where abouts in oz you at?
  4. i think it was 3.50 pounds for first then 1 pound for each one after. so it was pretty good. but since 12" was 7 pounds plus delivery ended up being about 18 Aussie dollars, which is bit mint for a second hand 12". but still considering it, because i could go years before finding it around here.
  5. i remember when i joined the forum in 2009 we were already discussing the death of dubstep!! all it really means is the death of dubstep in the media. dubstep existed before it was dubbed dubstep, and it will continue to live post the media hype. just like electric boogaloo was the death of hip hop according to the media. then the death of pac & bigg was the end of hip hop. and so on and so on. yet hip hop is bigger and better than ever, albeit the mainstream is no longer involved. and just like electro before dubstep became the mainstreams lovechild. it existed before the boom, and there still is some great electro producers out there. like chuck d says don't. don't. don't..don't believe the hype...
  6. yellow
  7. hahaha thats his way of saying stick to the antiques old mann. but thats awesome wazza.
  8. The st150s have stabilisers. Dont know what that means but i assume it reduces rumble
  9. haha are you sure you wanted breaks then? or hip hop? these are pretty funky Defkline/ Red Polo vs Dustin Houlton - Mr Big Stuff (in fact check all these three cats) Defkline/ Red Polo - We Got The Funk but yeah if you mean hip hop, like at 90 bpm with the old funk feel (a la native tongues crew or maybe the soulaquarians crew), then thats a different kettle of fish
  10. hahaha so i guess you in sir robbo's camp then. i dont mind banksy, he's a witty prick. but yeah all the banksy's on display are just prints or sketch bookers.its only like 0.5% of the thang. in fact you could skip that whole private collection and still have a mad time
  11. sounds like a great day mate
  12. tomy is there pre-sale of ticks or just rock up. ive never been to a paid event at arthouse, always just free nights
  13. i posted some new pics in the other outpost thread viewtopic.php?f=50&t=8065&p=113691#p113691
  14. oops i thought this was the other outpost fred meh anyways sorry bro dont know who was playing when you went but you can see in the pic, the dj at shadow wars was playing in the red bull truck his name was LU-CHI’SZ from holland
  15. i think last day of outpost this weekend, and there will be a pro/am street skate comp
  16. also on satday was shadow wars, a break comp. which i didnt realise was an iternational thang and this was the last stop. there was mens singles, female singles and teams. the singles was invitational only and had lots of internationals including korea (who are on top of the game at the mo); US; hawaii and of course some of oz's finest. awesome day and awesome breaks. the judges showcase (which was pretty much the 3 judges against the 14 losing mens singles) was awesome as usual. and i think i said it before at the other break event, the dj's at these are always awesome to come watch. as they just use a mix of breaks, breakdowns, horn stabs, intros and outros, bridges from old funk, jazz or soul tracks, to provide the soundtrack for the dancers. and its not the same as turntablists where it is about the routine this is just providing music to dance to. and how they can create builds is amazing. all four elements in effect for sure, with both mc's busting lyrical during some intermissions. and as a bonus the one and only grand wizard theodore, the creator, was in the building. he only did a small less than a 1 minute routine. but he did do an empathic speech bigging up all elements of hip hop, and its pioneers, as well as todays bboys and bgrrls. days like this make me so happy to know that this fad i got into almost 30 years ago is still going strong. the love was so strong that just before the finals they announced that the promoters had pretty much run into the red and as a free event there was no recouping so they started a collection passing a bin around. and shyte filled up quickly with tens, twenties and even fitties. i live and die for hip hop, this is hip hop for today, i give props to hip hop, so hip hop hooray..... shit photo is shit
  17. so i hit outpost again last satday. got to catch the last of the secret wars. this one between ken taylor and ben bigeni of taken skate clothing. for those that dont know, secret wars is a live art battle. each artist has 90 mins to come up with something while a dj plays tunes. ben is known for doing skulls so ken went straight after that. pretty exciting stuff and the dj keeps the mood by bringing up the excitement in the last 30. my shitty pics dont do ben's pic justice (on left) as it was quite intricate and had all drips and shyte
  18. good man!

  20. okay ill post up some tracks, but as usual my suggestion is look at other tracks from the artist, the label and the remixer NAPT - Fortune Defkline/ Red Polo vs Dustin Houlton - Mr Big Stuff (in fact check all these three cats) Defkline/ Red Polo - We Got The Funk Shawn Davis & Scarletti - Leave It Alone (some moar with cheese. in fact check this label Krispy Beatz)
  21. ill hit you up at lunch mayne. i just went on a haul recently. a lot of the newer breaks have got a bit dubsteppy (which isnt unusual as most breaks djs were playing dubstep in sets, that breaks producers would also go the same way). but some artists/ labels to check in the meatime beat assasins a-skillz krafty kuts deekline & method in fact all deekline and even his bootleg alias defkline micky slim aquasky's new album raise the devil has a few choice cuts. it goes from dubstep, to almost dnb, to ragga. all at about 140 if you want some cheese look up sue cho and all her collabs, a lot of them are in the breaks realm in terms of labels illevenEleven (or something like that) anyways ill do a good old look at lunch
  22. Sounds awesome jonny.
