I’ve set up Traktor 1.1.2 so it has Beat-Markers and I use the keyboard shortcuts. Deck A playing. Deck B monitoring: 1. Auto-Cue to the first beat. 2. I adjust using the Repeating/Cue to just before the beat- I’m just fussy. 3. Beat-Step to the 16th beat. 4. Cue to save its position. 5. When Deck A has nearly finished playing, I adjust the pitch of that playing song to match the Beats Per Minute (BPM) of Deck B. 6. I then manually Cued/Play Deck B while still monitoring till its beat-matched perfectly ready to be cross-faded. 7. Occasionally I’ll manually adjust the pitch to ensure perfect sync with Deck A before I cross-fade. DJing is pathetically simple- can I not have any MORONS with comments like: Make a YOUTUBE video because I’m Stupid, or We don’t care about manual DJing on Traktor 1 because we don’t understand how to manually Cued/Play properly- Just tap the Cue button da, da, da, da, da..... da da then you press the play button, Ya dunda head thats why its called Cued/Play.- using the keyboard shortcuts on Traktor 1. If you can manually DJ on a twin deck CD player or PCDJ-Red Mobile then you’ll easily master manual DJing on Traktor 1. Tell us about your manual DJing experiences on Traktor 1. ........................................... DJs in Darwin if you decide to manually DJ on Traktor, you'll be following the footsteps of Darwin's DJs of 2003 who had used the first Traktor 1 when it was first released and had mastered manual DJing on that DJ software. Its fun to muck around with (as is all DJ software) and helps to hone your Deck skills when using the keyboard shortcuts. No DJ in Darwin has ever dared to manually DJ in a club just using a laptop and the keyboard shortcuts and risk being ridiculed by their friends and family around them, but its been almost 7 years since Traktor was first released and maybe peoples attitudes towards DJ software has changed (I doubt it ) since 2003. BUY your DJ software (Not http:katz.cd crap) and BUY your music (Not Limewire crap) and have fun DJing. regards, John Myatt

How to Cued/Play in PCDJ-Red Mobile Check out the bottom of this forum to learn about the Cued/Play function: http://forums.pioneerdj.com/eve/forums/ ... /792109152 OR -In CDJ Mode: Play/Pause will start or stop playback. The cue point will not be affected. Cue will return the position to the current cue point when the song was playing. When the song is not playing and the song is at the current cue point, playback will start for as long as you hold the cue button. When you release the cue button, the position will return to the cue point. When the song is not at the cue point, the cue point position will be changed. http://pcdj.com/index.php/support/dex_denon/ Use the keyboard shortcuts, a good way of using the keyboard is to use coloured stickers on the keys that you use then manually DJ. I really am trying to help you all to be REAL DJs instead of being that automatic DJ crap and the awesome thing about learning the correct way to manually DJ is these techniques are applicable to DJ hardware ie: Twin deck CD player decks or Midi decks ect. Jaytee if you want a DJ video, then learn from DJ Pedster a paraplegic in this YOUTUBE video: If DJ Pedster can manually DJ using the keyboard shortcuts using his nose of all things, then anyone can be a DJ that manually DJs using the keyboard shortcuts. regards, John Myatt

yeah lets all laugh at the fake dj's because they dont have the money you did to buy your proper turntables/cdj's. Lets all laugh because we are REAL dj's and they a arnt. im sorry, your post realy pissed me off. just because someone has one of those all in 1 things dosent mean thats what they actually wanted. my mate has one but, hed much rather 1000's. but not everyone has the luxury of money mate. In the past I used to just mess with the Tards and watch them squirm, now I'm like into helping other DJs succeed in their DJing. In the beginners focus forum I'd described how to perfectly beat-match using PCDJ-Red Mobile- Check that out and learn the basics of MANUAL DJing and do some Cue-Point tricking, then google the Cued/Play function and learn about that. Oh and in PCDJ-Red Mobile check out the loop functions- muck around with it and you'll find its exactly the same as a Twin deck CD player and a CDJ 1000. Just don't go to http:katz.cd to get FREE software to mix your Limewire music. Just BUY your software and BUY your music and use manual DJing techniques instead of being that automatic DJ crap. regards, John Myatt

Don't any of you adjust the pitch after you've Cued/Play ed or used the Hot Cue function? Like on a CDJ 1000 you just turn the dial while monitoring the songs and on say Virtual DJ (I don't use Virtual DJ) I think you just press the < > under the pitch slider which initiates the Nudge mode function. I hope this helps. regards, John Myatt (Darwin's DJ Master)

Learn how to manually DJ on Traktor 1.1 or PCDJ Dex while monitoring your DJ mix. Most DJs that use those DJ softwares automix and have a limited understanding of the Cued/Play function. These automatic DJs with their http:katz.cd portable USB DJ softwares and Limewire music just get laughed at. Also has anyone seen those LAME looking Midi controllers with the built in mixer ie: DJ-Tech Imix, Numark stealth, Vestax VCi 100. What a stupid idea that is to have a built in mixer- I could imagine people just laughing their ass off at you if you had one of these. If you want to DJ on the cheap but don't want to get laughed at, just get a Denon DN-HD2500 (Hard-Drive/Midi/CD-Deck). Check out this youtube video: Be a REAL DJ that Cued/Play's properly and has access to all of the saved Cues instead of relying on the Hot-Cues. regards, John Myatt

Just learn beat-matching and learn to adjust the pitch to ensure that it is beat-matched perfectly. Go to pcdj.com and download PCDJ-Red Mobile (Demo). http://pcdj.com/index.php/products/dj-s ... ed-mobile/ I don't use this software I use PCDJ-Dex to manually DJ, so I'm saying this off the top of my head. How to use the Repeating/Cue and Hot-Cues on PCDJ-Red Mobile. Load songs of similar Beats Per Minute (BPM) into decks A and B. (ie:138 BPM in deck A & 141 in Play deck A (138 BPM) and ensure the cross-fader is at the left position. Play deck B (while monitoring). Pause deck B and turn the dial (Nudge) using your mouse to activate the Repeating/Cue function. It will sound like a da, da, da, da, da. Now adjust it at or before the beat. Now you'll see a button with a Red-Spot on it- press the red spot button then press the Cue-point you wish to save it to ie: Cue 1 to save. Now you just adjust the pitch of deck A (138 BPM) to match the pitch of deck B (141 BPM). Then to use the Hot-Cue on deck B you simply tap the Cue you saved earlier by pressing (tapping) Cue-Point 1 until its beat matched perfectly. Now if its still not Beat-Matched perfectly you simply adjust the pitch of deck B while monitoring with headphones by turning the dial (Nudge) using your mouse to momentarily adjust the pitch up or down to Beat-Match perfectly, then when your satisfied that it is perfectly Beat-Matched you can cross-fade. Try saving multiple Cue's within the song and try performing Cue-Point tricking by alternately tapping different Cues. If you master this BUY a copy of PCDJ-Red Mobile and manually DJ. Don't EVER do that automatic DJing crap or other DJs will laugh at you. Also BUY your software and BUY your music and be a REAL DJ that uses manual DJing techniques. Just be a REAL DJ. regards, John Myatt (Darwin)

Best headphones overall in terms of price, quality, clarity?

Dude the ones with the black extensions are the real ones, the ones with the silver extensions are the Chinese replica's. -
If you want to know about Deck DJing all you need to do is google the manuals for all DJ decks and software and learn about the main functions from those various manuals. If you learn this way, you'll learn the two different ways of using the Repeating/Cue and Cued/Play functions as well as the difference between Twin deck CD players and CDJ units. Once you've learn't this you'll know how to use any deck and you'll instantly understand manual DJing on software just from either looking at it or looking at the keyboard shortcuts for whatever software. How to be a REAL DJ When you google the various manuals fucus your search on these main functions and define their functions and how to use them properly: Cue-Point mixing. (define it) Repeating/Cue and Cueing. (The two ways of using the Repeating/Cue are this and this) Cued/Play- If you know the two ways of executing the Cued/Play functions you could be a Cue-Point mixing/tricking master. (The two ways of using the Cued/Play functions are this and this) Hot-Cues- Some DJs (if they're LAME) don't know how to manually Cued/Play properly and end up using the Hot-Cue functions on their DJ decks. Using Hot-Cues is ok if you're just a learner, but if you want to be a REAL DJ master then master the Cued/Play function and have instant access to all of saved Cues within a song and not just the two or three Cue-Points when you use the Hot-Cue function. (To use Hot-Cues I do this) Auto-Cue. (To use the Auto-Cue function I do this) Beat-Stepping. (To beat step I press this button) ie: http://www.pcdj.com/index.php/support/updates You'll learn allot just from reading these various manuals on this PCDJ page, just focus on what I've highlighted (bold) above and categorise your information. In: http://pcdj.com/index.php/dex/dex-downloads/ under "Using Controllers with PCDJ DEX" just look at the various manuals and if your not a MORON within a day you should have a good understanding of the main functions that I've highlighted above. For example http://pcdj.com/Manuals/DEX_DN-HC4500_Mapping.pdf states (Cut and Pasted) that: General Use The way the Play/Pause and Cue buttons work depend on the cue mode configuration in PCDJ DEX. (Menu, Options, General) -In CDJ Mode: Play/Pause will start or stop playback. -In PCDJ DEX mode: Play/Pause will start or stop playback. When playback is stopped, the cue point is set to that position. Cue will return the position to the cue point and stop playback. When pressing cue again the position will be set to the start of the song. The Sync button will adjust the pitch to match the other decks' bpm. Holding the button for more than a second will reset the pitch to 0%. The Jog Mode button switches between scratch mode, pitch bend mode and track browsing mode for the jog wheel. The Pitch/Key button will toggle tempocontrol on or off. When you hold the button pressed for 1 second, the pitch range can be adjusted by turning the parameter knob. The Fast Search buttons can be used to seek forward or backwards in the current song. The Pitch Bend buttons will temporarily bend the pitch up or down. Pressing the Time button will switch between Elapsed and Remaining time display, and will also temporarily show the track length in the display. Press the Cont/Single button for 1 second to switch the display between pitch and bpm display. There is so much information in the above Cut and Pasted paragraph its not funny. DJing isn't rocket science, its like a game and the aim of the game is to figure it out  on your own and be a REAL DJ that manually DJs while monitoring their mix with headphones on a mixer and not that automixing crap. If you like to automatic DJ (automix) cause its easier for you, you may as well be using that Mixmeister software and just stand there pretending to be so cool while the software does everything automatically for you. regards, John Myatt

Hows it going DJs and randoms across Australia. What DJ doesn't love to manually DJ while monitoring their DJ mix with headphones on a mixer and ends up automatic (automix) DJing? I HATE automixing DJs with their automatic DJ softwares. My quote: DJing doesn't define me, it's just something that I do. regards, John Myatt (in Darwin)
